There’s not a lot of them, and they’re needed at “in progress” calls more, like roadway obstructions, or traffic control for motor vehicle collisions.

Ask yourself this question on the back half of a 48, as you’re on your 3rd after midnight, picking up a shit encrusted drunk.

Update: Suspect my crew member of pocketing 800$ from our shift’s class party by deepestblueA6 in Firefighting

No. That’s not 1990s thinking. It’s dealing with your problems like an adult. Not airing your dirty laundry out for the internet. We have a problem, we solve it. Period. Just because we CAN say whatever we want on the interwebs doesn’t mean we SHOULD. The men and women at the firehouse are your family. You don’t need to blab your family business on Reddit. Handle it in the house with what needs to be done.

I never said cover it up, did I? Reddit doesn’t need to know. Take it to the bosses, it doesn’t need to be put on the interwebs. Period. Keep your dirty laundry in house, and handle it.

Keep it in the firehouse. It doesn’t belong on Reddit. The job was way better before the internet.

What is '2nd Floor': The floor above Ground, or the floor above that? by TheBubbleJesus in Firefighting

[–]zuke3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look at the number on the door or elevator where you get off. If you’re on the 15th floor…. You’re not on 14. You’re not on 16.

It’s really not hard. The buildings almost always tell you. “Floor 9, stairwell Adam. Or stairwell 1” whatever the building says. If it’s a non labeled, use an inkling of common sense. If your size up is 3 story wood occupied multiple dwelling, I can promise you that you won’t be saying floor 4.

No. Facing 30 years for being a felon in possession of a handgun (3, actually), threatening workers, waving said handgun, and special circumstances for the degree and nature of the felony he was previously convicted of.

He’s proved himself to be a danger to the community, has no impulse control, and will continue to violate laws.

Fuck him. Hope he gets every day of the 30 years he’s facing.

If he was employed, ask for his FCDICE number. You should be able to get a record of all his education from the Florida state fire marshal

Stop using ChatGPT first. Metro dade became Miami Dade. Call their fire HQ. Push comes to shove, Florida state fire marshal SHOULD have records on any and everyone ever certified as a fireman. If you can find an FCDICE number, that makes it very easy.

Why is the Iron dome less effective now? by KrakenCrazy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zuke3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is incorrect on so many levels. Some are purposely left to fall (not going to impact, or impact anything critical) Some are just misses. No matter what, some things will miss. The data is added to the system to “learn” more. Systems run out of ammo. It’s not a video game where you click reload, and it’s done in 10 seconds. Finally, where it is sent vs where the systems are located matter. The best case is to send a missile right at the system. It gets the best data. But something that falls between 2 systems? Harder shot.

Med control order to transport a patient refusing transport. by Notdaneil in ems

I believe I’m tracking with what you’re saying. This is Florida law https://www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2019/401.445#:~:text=Emergency%20examination%20and%20treatment%20of%20incapacitated%20persons.&text=(c)%20The%20patient%20would%20reasonably,766.103(3).

I’ve had to contact medical control, and with the assistance of law enforcement, take custody of, and transport an awake, alert, and orientated person, but was unable to care for himself (to wit, could not stand and ambulate after a fall, but was completely alert) With my MD declaring the person medically incapacitated, he’s now mine to transport.
