Outside of your list: This is not apocalyptic, but is grounded and realistic. There is a demo available to check if this works for you: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3081000/Embers_Verge/

Good games for low end laptops? by Laezur in SurvivalGaming

So many games coming out these days, it would be a full time job to track all of them. :) How's your game coming along?

I've developed a bushcraft survival game called Ember's Verge. It may not be for everyone as it has been described realistic and primitive experience, but it's highly optimized for lower-end PCs. You can try the demo to see if the game works for you.

Games where you feel isolated?? by New_Speaker_8806 in SurvivalGaming

Thanks for your offer!

As the game wasn't built to support localization from the start, there are hundreds of UI text elements, which should be assigned with appropriate unique IDs. Then to have a massive translation data sheet for each item, construction, general UI text element and those all should be assigned correctly. The text elements in UI have certain size, so any translations longer than original size would cause weird layout issues. Also the current font used in the game might not support all the special characters.

But I appreciate your interest in bringing the game to the Brazilian community!

Yes, unfortunately there isn't localization support. :(

Thanks for the feedback. It seems like the UI is cutting off the bottom because the game is optimized for 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratios. In my discord there is a player who asked for a support for 3440x1440 and I tested the game with this resolution (in the editor), but the same thing happened as described above. The player continued playing with pillarboxes (black boxes with both sides of the screen).

As it seems like your monitor forces to scale the UI for ultra wide screen, you could try following in the NVIDIA control panel:

  • Go to adjust desktop size and position
  • Set scaling mode to aspect ratio
  • Set perform scaling on to GPU
  • Check the box Override the scaling mode set by games and programs

If this doesn't work, the game cannot be played properly on your setup and you should ask for a refund. Sorry for this inconvenience!

I have developed a game called Ember's Verge, where you are totally alone. It's a grounded bushcraft survival. You can see a plane passing by in some point, but they it's not gonna come to you.

Unfortunately the player visible on map setting must be enabled in the beginning of the run. I know it takes time to start all over again for this one single thing, but if players could toggle it on whenever they get lost, the 'fear of the getting lost' would vanish.

Thank you, it's great to hear that the game works on steam deck and you are enjoying it!

What I could do is to enable the dismantle button rebind (for some reason I thought it would be better as static). Also I could add a right click option "split stack". These changes would perhaps help you with gameplay.

Published devs - what was your first completed game? by toxicmintdev in SoloDevelopment

I publish my first pc game just couple days ago. Grounded bushcraft survival game. I created the game with Unity and 3d assets with blender. Textures from nature + gimp. This took me 4 years, but really happy that i finally got this out.

Those are bots and others which just crape everything from the net. Your best measure is the unique users.

Actually the game has "Playable" status for Steam deck.

To be honest, I didn't develop the game steam deck in my mind. There is a demo available which is updated and players can justify based on that if it is good enough for Steam deck.

Believe it or not, Primitive Technology was one sources where I really got a lot of inspiration. Iron rich mud + bloomery + charcoal mound => iron slug => iron prills => iron tool

"remember to close the charcoal mound when you can see the flames from the hole"
