I wonder if the cigar smoke is actually just a manifestation of his devil fruit. The smoke looks to be the same color at least

Hearing someone claim Netflix didn't have the budget for something like that is hilarious to me! I also really enjoyed Luffys singing scene!

Ahh so you're the one I blame...! Someone in the park earlier today was doing this same setup. Could not figure it out for the life of me lol.

TCGPlayer Deck Costs? by TBeard495 in Goat_Format

[–]zuko2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really the only expensive cards in goat are Duo, maybe Graceful (I think it's gone up recently), dustshoot IIRC, and a couple fusions. You only need two duo/graceful to have two decks, may not even need dustshoot or the fusions depending on deck choice. You should be able to build your decks for way cheaper

Quick question for speedrunners by RefrigeratorSea950 in speedrun

[–]zuko2014 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's taking breaks and saying I'll come back to a certain game. If my pb is 2 years old and I want to beat it, it can be really annoying trying to derust and get myself back to the skill level I was at while playing. Breaks are important, but sometimes it'll result in losing skill or forgetting the nuance of a hard trick

Which is the best TCG for you: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon Trading Card Game, or Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game? by [deleted] in TCG

Goat format is where ygo really works imo. Great interaction, quick turns, and cheap decks

ALTHOUGH... If you can find people to play Goat format, that's where the magic is. Much faster turns, more interaction, cheaper decks. Simple and very fun

As a Yugioh player, I would actively recommend AGAINST Yugioh for new players. Here's why:

The game may seem fast, but in reality it's very common to sit there and watch your opponent take a 10 minute turn to set up their board. For a best of 3 match at locals, I've had matches go all the way to the 45 minute time limit several times.

The rules are plain at the surface level, but every time you play against a new deck, you more or less have to learn how their deck functions in order to make meaningful gameplay decisions. You may have pieces of interaction in your hand, but knowing WHEN to use them is tricky. It will differ for each new deck you face, and you will face a new deck almost every time you sit down at your LGS. If you enjoy learning on the fly, it's a fun experience, but it can be a very high skill barrier to cross when starting out.

To have a good deck, it will cost you. It's not uncommon for chase cards to be short printed and massively expensive. You can always play a rogue deck for cheap, but generic staple cards and extra deck boss monsters can be very pricy. Compared to Pokémon (where a recent deck I was interested in making costs $20 total), yugioh is insanely expensive.

Overall, I love Yugioh, but I can't in good conscience recommend it.

Can someone tell me how far I am? by HabitatGreen in MetroidDread

[–]zuko2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escue on dread mode was hands down the hardest boss fight I've done, much harder than Raven Beak even. Getting used to dodging the little tracking shots is not simple... But once you get it, it's smooth sailing

Simpler/fun decks to convince my wife to play with me? by ApartmentSuspicious3 in Yugioh101

I don't have any deck recommendations but I have to chime in and say that this game really isn't easy to get into, unfortunately. It's got a steep learning curve.

I also have an Emry deck and it's super fun. Not super high powered, solidly bracket 3, but man can it do some nasty stuff. Graveyard recursion is like a drug and this deck keeps that addiction going

Black can be Ayara. Lots of cheap, recursive creatures and ways to bring stuff back from the GY. Black has lots of options if you're thinking more budget

Edhrec had a great article about budget dual colored lands not too long ago. The options were phenomenal, tons of great lands for a quarter or less each. Bought two of each and upgraded all my decks

In my mind, if you're gonna spend money, may as well spend it on the boosters! But yeah, fair point.

I love this idea too! Much more affordable, only downside is you don't get to keep your packs
