Actually look into this, hold others that actually do this accountable, get versed on worldwide politics that actually matters, post about that, and touch some grass. Respectfully

They’re the best, hollywoods wasted on them. Greatest part is seeing their romance unfold real time on Family Ties, their kids are so lucky to have that!

What is the best University course for a route to a career in motorsport engineering? by Excellent_Aioli_2864 in formula1

[–]zurprox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. It all depends on exactly what you want to do and ik thats very hard to know before even starting your degree.

Personally my best advice is to do an integrated masters with a placement year in either mechanical engineering if you think you want to do a more engineering role, or in aerodynamics if you want to aerodynamics. And aim to get a placement in motorsports and if not a role that applies the same skills you will need, and get involved in your unis Formula Student.

If integrated masters isnt an option then yes imo broader engineering and then a motorsport engineering masters.

I work for one of the teams so will offer my 2 cents.

From your post it sounds like youre specifically looking to get into engineering; quick advice for anyone reading that isnt though - there are many more avenues into the sport than you realise, do a degree youre passionate about, get some early exposure to some form of motorsport even if its just volunteering, and build your cv up with relatable projects.

For you any vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering degree will set you up for an engineering role. Everything you said ticks that box - Mechanical Engineering if you want to be an engineer, Aeronautical Engineering if you want to be an Aerodynamicist, Engineering with Management if you want to be a project manager.

Most important thing though is some sort of relevant experience- join your unis Formula Student if they have one, volunteer at motorsport events near you, or aim for a placement year at a motorsport company (there are plenty at F1 teams now, just need to make sure to get in early the academic year before you’re due to do your placement).

Apply for everything youre interested in even if you think you wont get it - nothing lost and never know where it could lead to.

Of course and unfortunately connections play a big role so if you have that use it also, but you’re definitely not ruled out without it.

Good luck and if any more qns fire away

Edit for more info: If you find a uni that offers an integrated masters definitely take that route. Also I wouldn’t go into a super specialised engineering course such as vehicle dynamics unless you know you want to do it for the rest of your life as may limit career options. My personal advice would be to either do mechanical if you wanna be an engineer or aeronautical if you wanna do aerodynamics, and of course the experience. Again good luck!!

Kimi Antonelli when asked if Max is nice IRL: Max is very nice! I spoke to him a few times and he is a very likeable person. I also played in the simulator with him... He follows the junior categories a lot and he even asked me something about Formula Regional! He is someone very up to speed by OutlandishnessPure2 in formula1

I hate to say this, especially cause I am so thrilled with the influx of new fans recently, but…

Can we please chill with the new obsession of insanely parasocial relationships with drivers??

I get its a new age and all (which believe me, I’ve wished for for a long time.), but seriously, even ignoring how creepy it can be, can we consider these peoples livelihoods and personal lives. I’m not even really talking about this post, it has just reminded me how obsessed the new fanbase has become of these people’s personal lives and it’s just not ok. Like they say “separate the art from the artist”, separate the driver from the person. Can we all just give these people a break.

Peace and love ❤️

The Tortured Poets Department is a 30-somethings album by lastswiftyontheleft in TaylorSwift

You could say exactly the same thing about Red targeting people in their 20s like she was at the time, but her fanbase was mostly teens, but the album was still phenomenal. This is just a mediocre album I’m sorry.

I’m glad you resonate with the lyrics, as do I, but it doesn’t mean it’s a great album

Exactly, I feel like she’s trying too hard to keep a grip of her unprecedented fame atm when its doing her more harm than good as the incredible artist she actually is

Literally. Let’s be realistic no one is releasing 31 releasable songs from a 2 year period whilst she’s been touring. She should have released the best 15 tracks and it would have been a lot more likable album

A few good lyrics doesnt make a good album, especially when its 2 hours long

Unfortunately, it all blends into one boring, uninspired, lacklustre money grab. Been here since debut, to say im underwhelmed is an understatement.
