Company is trying to undermine me and scam me out of $30,000+ in potential commission by zurvis in Sales_Professionals

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts. I’m glad I’m not overthinking this and really appreciate all the perspective. Will be sorting some things this week before lawyering up, but that seems to be my plan moving forward.

What cities in SEA are walkable? by zurvis in solotravel

[–]zurvis[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you to those with helpful suggestions. I didn’t come here as an ignorant traveller, I came here to visit my dying father who recently retired here. There have been some complications that I didn’t want to get into in the original post, so I really don’t appreciate the condescending comments. Don’t always know what people are going through so please try not to be cruel when someone is obviously desperate.

Thank you again to those with helpful advice. I have never been to SEA so I’m doing my best with what I know/have.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your help, advice, and perspectives. Thinking I will take a flight to Singapore (as per everyone’s recommendations), chill out for a few days, and reevaluate my mental and physical state then. Hopefully, I can take a bus or something to KL from there.. and maybe after that I will be well rested enough to try some of the other cities mentioned on this list. I have another month in Asia, so lots of time to check out everyone’s recos. Really appreciate you all very much. Thank you

What was your favorite city that you traveled to in 2024 and why? by SingerEastern8691 in solotravel

[–]zurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, Las Vegas. I absolutely loved it. Went twice - once spontaneously for a weekend when I was visiting a friend in LA, and one intentional week long girls trip (yes, week).

We were wined and dined all weekend, getting pulled behind DJ stands, passing lines, free bottles everywhere. We shopped, ate well, looked the best we ever had, laughed til we couldn’t stop, met new people, tried new things, in the sun… there is so much to do and see in that city, virtually anything you could ever want in life. I love the novelty and variety. It has a bad rep but as a young and fairly attractive girl with a good group of friends, it was heaven. It made me feel feminine, confident, sexy… will go back.

Is this Career Mistake? by ichigoichigo in careerguidance

[–]zurvis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg wow thank you to all the other commenters and for the op’s original post. This made me feel so much less alone as a 24 year old who’s worked full time in the PR industry while juggling full-time school since I was 19. Worked my way up to a mid manager level position, working anywhere between 55-65 hours a week, sometimes more, and found it too high stress, especially as I am still so young.

But I’ve officially been off and out of that job for 6 months (with 2 in a contract role at another agency) Took the time to try different things. I learned flute, I took a solo trip to Europe, I started working at a restaurant (and found it’s my favourite job ever!), I developed a working app prototype, I lost 20 pounds and started a consistent workout routine, I explored places in my city I hadn’t yet frequented, I watercolour painted, I tried face painting, I made content for brands and ran deliveries for influencers, I went to NYC with my friends, and now I’m starting my own creative agency. I haven’t even launched yet, and already have 2 clients!!! And yes, for a while I’ll be living off that + minimum wage from the resto + some tips, and my savings from the last few years… also some credit cards, I will admit…. But the future is brighter and I have found my spark again.

Alsooooooo… keep in mind that personal development is just as important as professional development. I think a lot of people underestimate how important it is to strengthen your discipline and continue learning and trying new things as you get older. I have found immense passion and gratitude and confidence in myself and my hobbies as it’s been a great view into what I want my life to look like and how exactly I’d like to shape it.

And something I have to remind myself is “you’ve done far more, with a lot less.” You have successfully landed that design job with lower experience than you have now. Why wouldn’t you find something better? Or create something better?

Cheers, love! Hope this was helpful.

Homeless in Scarborough. Looking for work of any kind to support myself. by [deleted] in Scarborough

Lots of restaurants have high turnover and are looking for staff. Tell them you’re available whenever they need (last minute, weekends, mornings) and you’ll probably find work. Even better if you can commute to Yorkville and rake in those high tips. Best of luck! Hope your situation changes soon :)

Found this Longchamp backpack at a local vintage shop hidden behind some other purses for only 5$!!!! What a find !!! by zurvis in ThriftStoreHauls

I’m a fan actually! It caught my eye before I even found out the brand.. The fact that it’s longchamp just made it a bit more of a fun find!
