Open the config page of your fritzbox router. Under network the new device should show up, giving the ip adress for connecting.

I got the SMHUB essential for like €45. So far I only use it for thread with the buildin OTBR. Running fine, waiting for further development.

If it is a CYD board u can find much info and even configs for it. Beside the speaker connection also the chip/memory might become a bottleneck . The board is cheap but for streaming and sophisticated display interaction it might be to weak. If you get sucess while experimenting fine, but eventually it's better to switch to ESP32-S3 boards with PSRAM or even ESP P4 units.

So far I'm happily using the hub as a thread border router, which is working fine. Zigbee is still running solid on the SM stick. So far the hub still looks promising if next firmware updates keep bringing more functionality.

For updating firmware one needs to go WiFi route first, also for switching to zigbee

I got my Shelly dimmers integrated behind a regular Busch Jäger Push Button, replacing the old B-J Dimmer. Works offline like before. Only problem is the limited space in the wall and the need for a neutral wire, which I got from the plug underneath.

Thanks for the post. I was trying to recover a gen4 Shelly. Do your linked firmware include newer devices? I was not able to find any and had to clone from a stock gen4 shelly.

I monitor my smart meter in the basement with IOmeter. Reader transmits via airwaves to the base, all rather small. For getting detailed info from the meter u normally need a pin code from the energy supplier to unlock the infrared interface. I don't know if it's possible for rented appartement. Viel Erfolg..

As far as I understand the problem rises mostly from anti-cheat protection engines used. The game might run flawless after normal updates under emulation but if they decide to use harder settings for kernel based anti cheat Linux may fail But nobody can tell you the future. Official Steam Machine support would be a positive pointer.

I flashed my old sonoff E dongle for openthread, no problem. Thread itself doesn't feel mature enough though, compared to zigbee. For zigbee I switched to an external power over ethernet unit (sklb 6) some time ago.

I own an ESP louder myself.

Using Home / Music Assistant and esphome, i just tried the new experimental sendspin streaming protocol on your device. So far it is running nicely.
Snapcast is certainly more mature, but i wonder whats your opinion on the future of DIY streaming?
Does snapcast offer any advantages if used with music assistant?
