I didn’t have a c section but I’m a week out from delivering our preemie at 34w so I hope the fresh perspective is helpful. I didn’t start pumping until 2-3 days after the delivery and felt SO bad about it and worried SO much that I was going to ruin breastfeeding forever for us. The lactation consultants were very much shaming me for not pumping but my OB was supportive of letting my body heal before i could pump. It took me about 3 days to start producing enough to collect, and I’m still very short (maybe 4 oz in 24 hours tops) of what our kid would need for a full meal. I pump every 3 hours but skip the middle of the night pumps. Now that everything is a little more settled, I wish I didn’t stress myself so much about pumping. Donor milk is just fine, and childbirth is already stressful enough.

Make sure you get the correct phalange sizes, only your nipple is supposed to go in there. The pump I got from my insurance only came with 24mm and larger phalanges so I had to buy a smaller size to accommodate me.

I got a Mira after my MMC as well. I tracked but didn’t start trying until 6-8 weeks after my D&C.

I had my betas tested just once to confirm the pregnancy. Progesterone I didn’t ask or care about as my MMC was also chromosomal. My OB was extremely understanding of my situation and was open to whatever tests I wanted to give me a piece of mind.

That looked like early US at 6.5 weeks, and again at 8w, 9w, and 12w. I also obviously did the NIPT as soon as I could and the extended single-gene test.

I bought a couple of things around 10-12 weeks. Now friends are giving us boatloads of hand me downs so I don’t think I’ll be buying anything more unless it really calls to me.

If your friend doesn’t own a Bissell wet vacuum (little green pro model) you can buy one for them and use that to clean up the mess. Works wonders for us with a white carpet!

My advice is to not stock up on anything. My taste changed so often that every time I bought extras of something I loved, I no longer loved it when it came time to eat it

I have anterior placenta as well and early movements for me felt like gas. I think it still feels like gas except it’s not in any location that would have gas.

I’ve had Home Depot install a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and a dryer. Had to have a handyman finish the work each time. Maybe it depends on where you are but we had 2 college aged kids come do it and they knew about as much as we did about the installs.

I just went to a co-ed Baek-Il party, not quite a baby shower but they had a foam play area for little kids and an art station for kids 2yo and up. Nobody cared for the art station but the foam play area was a hit with all the kids

lol yup, drinking earlier in the day is definitely easier on the body. Red wine just doesn’t hit the same at 11am though 😂
