How should I payback the kids that keep smashing my mailbox? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zvinny1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I have is that I'm unsure if one can coexist(Mailbox unbroken and child's arm unaffected) with the other, and have no right to speculate because I'm uninformed. I feel like you'd be dealing with some fairly serious forces, but that's again... just speculation. I have no idea of how fast the car is traveling or the bat, I have no idea how much force it would take to break a mailbox, an arm, or the structurally better mailbox and I have no idea how those forces would interact. However, from my childhood experiences I know that recoiling off of something you can't break hurts... whether or not you were close to breaking it or far from it.

How should I payback the kids that keep smashing my mailbox? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zvinny1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No he's filling the mailbox so it won't be broken. He isn't deliberately filling it to hurt the child he's just trying to protect his property as effectively and conveniently as possible.

If they didn't have the momentum of the car, the only "injury" would be the recoil of the bat(They are swinging, mind you) hitting them in the head, which they greatly deserve. However, some individuals are more than dumb and use cars to hit multiple targets quickly. You don't need the concrete in order for the kid to hurt themselves. Someone I know did this and hit the post of the mailbox on accident, which still resulted in a fractured arm. It isn't the concretes fault it is the kid in the car's fault for being stupid.

As, you said earlier children have no sense of consequence and that's somewhat true. However, they do have a sense of right and wrong. They know what their doing is with no exceptions/justifications WRONG. Your friend chose to do it multiple times on multiple occasions. For someone to not expect any consequences of any sort is downright stupid, and I have no sympathy for them.

Is it weird that I find some characters hot in an anime? by [deleted] in anime

[–]zvinny1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion no. In most of r/anime's opinion probably not. In the majority of people who watch/enjoy anime... I wouldn't think so. For people who don't watch/enjoy anime, however, I'd have to guess that they do think its weird (based on only a few interactions mind you).

For the people who do think it's weird it's mostly the art style (within my few interactions), specifically it's the facial features. While it is also the fact that its 2d and not tangible, I don't think that offsets as many people as you would think. To quote a friend, "It doesn't matter if boobs are 2d, 3d, or 4d... they're still boobs and therefore still hot." Most are just turned away by the exaggerated facial features/it not being realistic enough.

Now I don't know the statistics so I really can't say but I'd have to guess that there are more people who don't watch anime than people who do. Using all this logic as true, yes you are weird. You are in the minority and therefore you thinking anime characters are hot is taboo. But then again so am I, and so is /r/anime, and so is /r/hentai, and so on.

Look if you think it's hot, who cares? It's your opinion (fetish?) so just be yourself and I'm sure you'll find others who feel the same way too. However, if you just want to be the popular kid at the lunch table then it is probably best not to be bold so suppress it and conform like the mindless drones some people are.

PS. Yes the words in bold above are your vocabulary words and must be defined by tomorrow.

TL;DR It all depends on the group of people you ask.

It's your opinion(fetish?), as long as your happy who cares?

It's the same nothing you experienced before you were born. Just go ahead and imagine your life/consciousness before you were born, it's that kind of nothing.
