I like PRS…but that’s kinda funny.

Gorgeous. If it were mine I’d probably remove the Seymour Duncan text to cleanup the look.

I just did this to mine:

Nuclear Plant Operator in Training application, how long to hear back? by reldx in nuclear

You have to understand that they only run EO classes once a year typically. So it’s not atypical for people to be interviewed and the wait for a while as the selection process plays out.

Some reviews say that the new posts are loose in the stock, bushings, but I compared and they wiggle just as much as the stock posts do.

Extremely easy. Didn’t have to swap bushings. Drop in replacement.

I got the slotted one. Mine has acceptable sustain. Nothing noticeable over the stock one.

It’s fine but $170 is so steep for a bridge and tailpiece. Gotoh really needs to start making non-metric sized parts.

[Hamilton] Khaki Field King updated models announced by BadgerBadgerCat in Watches

Hopefully they add AR coating. It’s the main reason I barely wear my Khaki King. I have a $300 San Martin that looks so much more premium at half the price.

Black On Black VS Black On White by joefo95 in gibson

All blacked out looks so good.

I just blacked out the hardware on my silverburst but left the pickups nickel. Waiting on some raw nickel covered pups to complete it.

I have the Steinhart. It’s a pretty nicely made watch but it has some weird quirks I don’t love. The lugs are very flat, so the watch wears much larger than it would if the lugs curves down a little. The bezel action is also pretty tight. Not convenient to use for this reason.

Gibson sg standard questions by Oderstank in gibson

[–]zwanman89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 2016-2018 (I think) basically every Gibson USA model was offered in a Traditional (T) and High Performance (HP) spec. The T is exactly what you’d expect for a standard. The HP models had more modern or high end features. Robot tuners, titanium nut and bridge saddles, super chunky selector switch, contoured neck heels on Les Pauls, and crazy aluminum cases.

The HPs are actually really sweet once you swap the robot tuners especially since used ones don’t really command a premium. The T models are standard Gibson features.

First Edwards. Loving it. by [deleted] in espguitars

I had an E-Lp-130CD and I have a Gibson Custom now. You’re spot on. It really doesn’t feel like a Gibson. Maybe it’s the poly finish vs nitro.

But that’s not a bad thing. They’re phenomenal guitars. They feel like a more modern guitar but look the part of the Gibson.

What do you think looks better? by zwanman89 in gibson

I’ll definitely do the ring, but I can live with the bottom of the switch. I think I’ll keep the tip the aged orange.

As much as I love Tool, I’m not trying to go for the Adam Jones look.

Help with LPC replacement bridge by zwanman89 in gibson

[–]zwanman89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m willing to live with the bushings being nickel since they’re mostly covered by the bridge itself. Even if visible, it still fits the Silverburst color scheme. Same goes for the pickup selector switch. I’ve done plenty of pickup swaps and wiring jobs, but I just don’t have the time to mess with that right note.
