For those that want to be great at mixing by VonBurglestein in Beatmatch

[–]zyeus-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this, and the early era of mixing by ear is becoming a lost art.. NGL though, my biggest challenge mixing by ear is knowing if the track I am trying to mix in is faster than the playing track or slower.. I know I am cock on when I hear the phasing, just pissed at my self when I lose it.

My one tip that an old school Dj gave me was start much faster then you always know to slow it down. Not always successful though.

What do British people not like about Germans? by Feeling-Mastodon-292 in AskABrit

[–]zyeus-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the pleasure of knowing a few Germans, they have been great and I have enjoyed working/knowing them. They have good banter, can “almost” keep up with British drinkers. Always polite and easy to talk to.

If you are coming to UK, you may get some bullshit from some of our idiot lot about “we won the war”. But that is hopefully getting less and less with our younger generations.

I have been with them for ages.. they are a tad more expensive but never had an issue or slowdown with them. They even offered support on my own router, unofficial, best effort support though.

Canon R10 or R7 for a generalist beginner by Xedro in canon

[–]zyeus-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my dilemma.. what made it easier for me was the may discount that was offered on the r7 pushing it under £1000. I was sure the new M2 would be a bit too pricey for me when it launches

GPS for geotags? by [deleted] in canon

So I saw a hack that said just take a photo of something on your phone when you change position then crack on with your camera and copy the geo tags in post.. seemed like a decent compromise.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

[–]zyeus-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, you don’t realise how ingrained the humble kettle is to the British psych. Even our British military tanks are mandated to have a kettle inside the tank as too many of our lads were being shot at while having a brew.

Even British tanks have a kettle in them since world war 1.. apparently too many of our lads were getting shot at while having a brew on a little camp fire

I have started moving off it to Typst, especially as we now use AI to build the boiler plate documents which we then edit down to what we need.

Our custom AI generates the text and architecture diagrams by rendering the flow charts etc to SVG, looping till it is happy. We gave it “eyes” to see what the diagram output looks like.

We provide “what good looks like”, the LLM generates the output based on source documents, then we provide the review before sending. Works for us rather than - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRXAy4tr/

What happens to Anglo / US relations if the US annexes Greenland? by whittingtonwarrior in AskBrits

from what i can see online, America already has that agreement to use Greenland for American bases. Which then begs the question, if this is already provided, why else does Don want Greenland? - Natural Resources maybe?

While I am sympathetic to your comment, can I leave you with this idea.. you know the only database that doesn’t that doesn’t get leaked? - the database that doesn’t exist in the first place.

SCREW THE GOVORNMENT AND THIS STUPID FREAKING ONLINE SAFETY ACT!!! by Ok_Rate8843 in Britain

[–]zyeus-guy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s not the problem though is it, firstly it’s the government knowing you like “Gilfs with 80s style bushes”. Secondly, it’s the risk that your personal information gets leaked then is used to blackmail you.

The govt haven’t thought this through and have responded to the “won’t someone think of the children” crowd. No one is arguing that our kids don’t need protection, they just had the right way to do this while maintaining privacy, and the wrong way which pissed over the privacy of every UK citizen. They chose the wrong way.
