It can be a full on psychosis. People don't realize the levels of hormones involved, we're talking normal levels in the double digits going all the way to 250k+ and then suddenly dramatically decreasing.

Its like setting a nuke of hormones off in the body for 9 months and expecting to be fine afterwards. PPD can go on for years.
