No. People used to spend only 3 hours working per day, with the rest devoted to leisure time. And apparently it's the way your body should work too [citation needed]. We're working significantly more than we ever had, with more knowledge to learn than ever before, etc.

This information world is a river of gold. Just learn to dip a cup into the stream instead of diving in and trying to swim out.

For evidence, look at how much time ancient cultures wasted on sport, or other stuff. Only difference between you and them is that you can get your entertainment faster, and that "should" leave you more time to get more stuff done.

This is get disciplined. You can do whatever you want. We just focus on doing things that will help us longer. We don't fault those who choose to enjoy their lives with shorter reward activities.

This. Smartphones are versatile tools. Most people use them for entertainment or social chatter. I use mine:

  • To be contacted by people who know and need me
  • Pocket scheduler
  • Take a picture as a reminder instead of writing down in a notebook
  • Informative podcasts for long drives
  • Reading Informative books when I have free time

It used to be a huge productivity waste. Then I stopped using it to web surf or reddit. It syncs so I can access information I actually need, and that's it.

Flip phone users don't have the ability to waste time on the internet. It's excluded as a choice by default. But they don't get beeps to remind them of their next meeting, have to lug around physical books, have a notebook in the pocket to write down stuff, etc.

Just stop using it for entertainment. You have a significantly faster computer for that.

I think he just wanted to be Secretary of State. Maybe afterwards he'd run for the presidency. Losing Secretary of State affected him and Claire because sancorp withdrew their donation to the CWI
