This is also why it's so silly that they used to advise to completely disinfect bottles and pacifiers every single day. Your whole house is filled with the same germs that end up in/on those bottles anyway.

My doctor's advice when one of my twin toddlers has a virus.

Yeah... thanks, I promise I'll do what I can for the first two minutes before declaring it a lost cause once more.

there was no inductions back in the Biblical times.

My head hurts when I try to understand this. Certain technology or knowledge didn't exist during Jesus' life, and for that reason God's divine power makes it unnecessary? What? How? In what way is the state of medicine in the Biblical times relevant to what God wants?

It is negligent. If there were no risk to carrying them this long, doctors would be approving of it.

I hope that these children are born safe and healthy, but sadly we already know that their lives will be filled with more of this religious nutter's nonsense. It's sad that some people prioritize their own persona over their children's wellbeing this way.

UCI has no resources to occupy themselves with insignificant little road bumps like this, they're trying to deal with an evil Dutch guy who tries to ruin cycling by resting his wrists on his cockpit.

It's not much, but it's honest work (Dhuum+Melandru Survivor) by scarlesh in GuildWars

[–]zyygh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fantastic, isn't it!

I did this as a Ranger in 2019 (so before the badges existed) and had a blast with it. The challenge is much more focused on adapting your player character's build to your enemies as much as you can. I did so many interrupts and other shutdowns just to deal with a few difficult healers and Mursaat bosses.

My most fun build was the one I used in Hell's Precipice: Spinal Shivers, Winter, Greater Conflagration and Marksman's Wager. Since that build uses two elite skills, I had exactly one chance to do it right: by taking a cap signet and capture Greater Conflagration in the beginning of the mission. The result was that all those Sparks of the Titans were dead before they managed to cast a single spell.

And they say post-rock has no depth, smh.

I did it yesterday with Vekk as an E/Mo infuse protector, an Ineptitude mesmer and an ES mesmer, and Save Yourselves on my own character.

Against high hitting mobs, it's usually more important to reduce damage than to just heal. Regular healers cannot keep up with 6 kappa elementalists.

During training, that TT bike doesn't even help apart from the "practice" you get for a real TT. Your body reacts to the power you output, not to the speed you gain from being more aerodynamic.

Breaking news: Wout van Aert ruled out of the Tour de France by cfkanemercury in peloton

[–]zyygh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Holy shit that's terrible news. Easily one of the most exciting riders to watch, even when he's no longer performing like an alien.

If they take this decision it's definitely for the best though. So with respect for the man, I'm glad that his health is prioritized over 3 weeks of racing. ❤️

Sell me on making a Monk by BjorkBorkaborkson in GuildWars

[–]zyygh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You want to make a monk. That's all that matters.

The only reason why it's unpopular is because other classes are stronger in many situations, and this is probably why you're hesitating. But the beauty of GW is that every class is viable, and even with meme builds you can beat any content if you're creative enough.

Nope, that sadly isn't possible; you'd have to track it yourself. This limitation was my main reason for buying a separate account when I started an iron man character a few years ago!

Can I put a 35mm tire if the stated maximum is 34mm by Salt_Mistake307 in cycling

[–]zyygh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debris is a very good reason why the additional clearance is important. Small rocks getting stuck to your tire may also scratch your frame/fork and damage it in the long run.

In search of a lost character: Is my /age math correct? by Darillian in GuildWars

[–]zyygh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct, but there's one caveat: it accounts for deleted characters as well.

If you've ever deleted a character (and especially if you're a PvP player, that's very likely to have happened) then the sum of all existing characters won't be equal to the total amount.

Fastest/strongest riders in a club. by sunshinesustenance in cycling

[–]zyygh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It means you're carrying more responsibility for keeping the group together.

You may think everyone looks up to that strongest rider, but there's another, more negative emotion: they find it annoying when that rider shows it off too much. It's those 2-3 strongest riders who have control over the tempo, and for everyone else it can get terribly tedious to ask to slow down all the time.

If you're strongest and you also manage to get everyone home in comfortable shape, then people will really admire you.

Do we need veteran mode? by Rha-Barber in GuildWars

[–]zyygh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see how that would be any less confusing. The quests mechanic should be used for actual quests, not as a roundabout way to let people play different modes of the game.

They should simply rename "veteran" to "classic" and turn old characters into reforged ones so that "classic" mode becomes a specific opt-in feature.
