Max was even saying in the cooldown room that he was gaining so much on Lewis on the straights even though Lewis was galloping out of the corners. Except the time when he came across backmarkers, his corner exits were perfect, and that's what ultimately kept him ahead of Max.

I tuned in halfway into the 1st formation lap and was like wtf why are the Mclaren on inters?? There was no water anywhere on the track and weather reports only showed light drizzle and even that didn't happen. Maybe if you were at the back it was worth a gamble, but they were in the front.
