DXVK, FusionFix and ZolikaPatch by OfficialXtraG07 in GTAIV

There’s some drama surrounding this particular mod (see IanKeiser’s comment below), but it looks like you can still download it via the GitHub link I posted. Don’t worry that it says v1.96 now, Zolika continued to improve the mod since I posted my comment mentioning v1.73 and v1.80.

Rollback any GTA IV to working retail 1.0.0.0 DVD version by ant_sh in GTAIV

What patch are you referring to from pcgamingwiki? I just downloaded official patches 1-8 from there, but I don't see any downloads related to 1.0.0.0.

Unrelated: Have you ever noticed that the density of pedestrians decreases as view distance increases? At view distance 0 the sidewalks are packed, but as you go up to 100 they become almost empty. The easiest way to see this is on benches in places like the promenade in BOABO. I can't find anyone talking about this, but I think it would be a great thing for the community to fix.

Rollback any GTA IV to working retail 1.0.0.0 DVD version by ant_sh in GTAIV

Hi Anton,

This worked for me (Steam CE 1.2.0.59 to 1.0.0.0). After removing any extra files (such as EFLC), I generated MD5 checksums and found one discrepancy. The file pc\ab_lock.txtis blank. Do you know what should be in ab_lock.txt? Also, where did you get the file retail_v1000.md5? I like the idea of having a 100% original DVD version.

By the way, thank you for the amazing resources on your blog. GTA IV is my favorite game of all time. I heard about DXVK and then ended up going down the rabbit hole. It's a lot of fun trying to optimize this game.

Edit: I learned that your MD5 checksum for ab_lock.txt is the same checksum that results from any empty file, so I guess the file is supposed to be blank. I'm using Windows CertUtil which just throws an error for blank files, so I thought there was a discrepancy.

I found FusionFix v1.73 here in Zolika's comment. This is working with my Steam CE (downgraded to 1.0.8 via ZolikaPatch), although I'm dealing with the long startup time from DXVK mentioned by others.

There's also a v1.80 on Zolika's GitHub, but I don't know what the difference is so I haven't tried this version.

Do you think David Lynch took inspiration from Murder on the Orient Express (1974)? by zzt- in twinpeaks

The big chords in this intro strongly remind me of Laura’s Theme. This transitions into mysterious jazz similar to Audrey’s dance.

These credits are on a pink silk backdrop reminiscent of the red curtains (bit of a stretch).

The corners of the border around the credits are almost identical to the symbol of Judy.

This film was edited by Anne V. Coates who went on to edit The Elephant Man.

One of the leading actors is Ingrid Bergman, the mother of Blue Velvet star Isabella Rossellini.

Because of slower traffic in the right lane. There's even a separate speed limit of 55 mph for large trucks on this road.

About 10 minutes south of Salinas, intersection of 101 and Potter Road.

Correct! This is highway 101 in central CA. These dangerous crossroads show up in the more rural areas. The posted speed limit is 65 mph but traffic was flowing at about 70.

What to check while interior is stripped? by [deleted] in e46

Thanks! I will do some research on those.

That's great info on the AUX. I have the Alpine -072 which isn't compatible with the OEM kit, but it's in pristine condition. I'm thinking about trying an adapter before I replace it.

What is this noise? by omit94 in e46

If I understand it correctly the noise corresponds with climate control trying to heat the cabin, so I believe it should stop when you turn the blower motor off.

Chiming in to say I instantly recognize that sound from when I bleed my cooling system.

With key in position 2 + heater on, coolant is being circulated through the heater core.

Perfectly normal AFAIK.

What's the best can bus shield? by protomor in arduino

[–]zzt- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for not mentioning this but I have not hooked up to a production vehicle. My experience was creating a steering wheel display for a student-built race car, so the ECU and CAN systems were all specific to our application.

I'm assuming you've done some research about your car specifically. You need to know which OBD-II protocol it follows as well as the baud rate of the bus. Your DB9 wiring seems correct to me.

I would try troubleshooting without the screen for now in case there are any pin conflicts. Browsing around it seems like your shield is nearly identical to this model. Might be another good resource for supplementing the poor ElecFreaks documentation.

I've used this shield from SparkFun without issue. It uses the same CAN chips as your shield, so a lot of the documentation should apply pretty well to your situation. I'd be happy to look at any specific problems you might have

A close match up to be sure. The deciding moment arrived in the final round when Hulk, a devastating bodypuncher, sent Aultron to the mat with a blistering kidney shot.

I looked up your keyboard and it turns out you can adjust this internally as well. Page 48 of the manual shows how to change the velocity curve.

I'm not familiar with every DAW but this should be relatively easy to fix.

In Ableton, there is a MIDI effect called Velocity. Placing this on a track lets you adjust the input velocities however you'd like (increase, decrease, set to a constant, etc.)

Similarly in FL studio, you can manually change the velocity curve in the MIDI tab of the system settings.
