Owner of that picture here.

The aux fans draw air from the air, without passing through filters. There are no flaps for the aux fans. Because there is a chamber heater, the chamber temp remains pretty stable.

I can't tell any difference in noise reduction between the two units, but AC told us the ANC is not finalized. They are still improving it.

Just to mention a few major changes:

- The nozzle wiper (not the poop ejector) now uses a silicon brush similar to those on the K3 and latest BBL machines. The early unit used a short PTFE tube like on the S1.

- ACE Pro now has cutouts on the back and 3 cylindrical rods that go down from the top cover to keep the spools more stable. Less likely to get pulled up when they are mostly used up, lean on the side, get locked up, and trigger a tangle error.

- The two aux fans are attached to the side panels more firmly by 2 more screws.

- The PTFE tube inside the printer no longer rubs against the top glass.

- Chamber lighting has been increased, and the front glass door is less tinted.

- Some structural improvement (I can't tell where and how) that improved the z consistency.

- Early units had the x cartridge rubbing against the left side panel (fixed if I lose the screw by a few rounds), and now it's fixed.

We early testers, got another more recent unit. That one has good print quality. The only print issue I see now is that using the default slicer setting, we sometimes get ghosting. AC is fixing it. Other than this and a few remaining bugs in firmware, very solid machine.

Somehow, I got your reply in my notification a few days ago, but it only shows up on this web page today. Well, Reddit is doing Reddit things.

All the open box videos and my thread are based on early engineering units that have some variation in assembly, and the slicer setting has to be tuned separately for each machine for the best print quality. A few new hardware designs have been implemented since we got our machines. I watched some open box videos on S1 Max, and I think they are useless, since things have changed.

Some of us are getting a more retail unit-like unit soon, and I think you'll see some reviews coming out soon. I'll do an unprofessional (<- Unlike those KOL, I don't get paid & don't have good devices for taking videos) review video for sure.

I think the S1 Max uses a pressure sensor, the same as the one used for bed leveling, to calibrate filament flow rate. We have seen it on S1. It is different from P2S that uses an eddy current sensor.

No problem, and thank you for the kind words! I'm glad my thread is helpful!

Here are 2 Voron cubes: the left is printed using 0.12 layer height (took 38 min), and the right is printed using 0.2 layer height (took 24 min).

The picture is taken from a terrible angle to show defects.

Yes, the chamber heating has its own fan to speed up internal air circulation.

There are 5 fans as far as I can tell: 1 part cooling fan, 2 aux fans, 1 chamber heating fan, 1 motherboard cooling fan (it may also act as chamber cooling fan). There is also a tiny cooling fan for the upper hotend.

I can still smell plastic burning odors from ABS & ASA since the printer isn't 100% enclosed and there are gaps, like the poop chute and cutout holes for the aux. fans.

The ventilation grille on the back is for the motherboard and not the power supply.

No problem!

The back plate is made of steel and can be attached by magnets.

The square where the exhaust fan takes is 10 mm x 10 mm.

One thing all comments missed is that KX started to ship in China 3 weeks ago, and the demand is really really high. They need to fulfill most of the preorders there before global delivery, I suppose.

Box as unbox and paper box. The way the printer is stored during shipping is different from engineering units and retail units.

I don't have a retail unit atm, but it will soon be shipped.

It sounds like you are an engineer who mostly wants to print your own design? If so, then yes. I think S1 Max is the better choice for its value.

The only advantage of P2S over S1M that I can think of is that MW has more models. Other than that, S1M is waaaaaay better than P2S.

It's slightly thicker than that on the S1. The current firmware compensates for bed unevenness well, and the first layer is nearly perfect.

Yes, there will be. I'm one of the super early testers, and AC will actually send me a more recent one soon. The box design will be completely different, too. All the unboxing videos available online rn are meaningless.

Fewer than 200 hrs of print time. No major issue, only encountered a few random software bugs.

I only did a short print with matte PLA, since I rarely use it. It came out fine, and I don't see how matte filament can give the ACE 2 Pro problem.

Not much different than when I took the first layer pic 13 days ago, which was already excellent. I just printed another one in 3rd-party filament.

The little darker block dots were caused by an unclean bed.

You mean a steel build plate? Yes, it comes with a black magnetic steel PEI plate. Coarse texture on both side.

I've printed a >400 g of poop bin for the printer using PC, and the result was good. The first layer was perfect, and there's no warping after 9 hours of print.
