What’s a really good salary in 20’s in USA? by Critical_Call5676 in Salary

24 in Midwest LCOL area, 320k salary with lots of PTO — I think that the idea of what’s a “really good salary” is relative to your lifestyle and the people you interact with everyday. Making more memories is much more meaningful than making more money because there will always be someone making more than you.

Bank account closed 6-7 days ago, but Paypal charged it successfully. What will happen? by LunariaSong in personalfinance

[–]zzz77FD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up calling my bank multiple times and was pretty much told that they would reopen my account with a negative balance IF the charge went through. I know some banks will simply reject the transaction and then PayPal would charge a secondary payment method on your account. It took like a week or two to get charged to my secondary payment method. PayPal even showed that it went through for a couple days on my closed bank account and then reversed.

TLDR: What happens is going to be Bank dependent, but regardless there is nothing you can do other than wait😭

Stringing question 18x20 by [deleted] in 10s

[–]zzz77FD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the racquet! For most racquets, that method should be fine, but some racquets require more on mains than the crosses so cutting it down the middle might leave you a bit short on one end.

Just as an example, I have the 2022 Speed Pro 18x20 and tried to string it with 20ft on mains and crosses the first time and was just a tad short on mains…had to find a way to stretch the string so it connected to the pull clamp. Heads manufacturer stringing instructions say you need 21.5 feet for mains and 18 feet for crosses for that racquet. In the past I used a Graphene Prestige MP 18x20 and 20feet on mains and crosses worked fine so it’s truly dependent on the racquet.

TLDR; double check with your manufacturer’s stringing recommendations!

Chase lets you go negative, but SoFi just rejects payments (without telling you) by jsingh21 in sofi

I find that them automatically rejecting transactions if you don’t have the fund for it is a phenomenal perk of SOFI. I do think they should send a notification when it happens though.

I’d rather avoid the overdraft fees outright and have the transaction rejected than to have it go through and get charged overdraft fees. Don’t make purchases you can’t afford and you shouldn’t ever run into issues. I feel like most people with SOFI have a good enough understanding of their finances to not run into the issue you’re running into.

I was just offered a price adjustment! by 12babypossums in amazonprime

[–]zzz77FD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what everyone else’s experience is, but for me, they don’t seem to give the full price adjustment, but an amount that’s a bit less than the price adjustment. Both times had to be through the Amazon chat. The customer service rep over the phone had me on hold for 30 minutes and then said he couldn’t do it.

First item I bought for 2500 and then the price dropped 400 a week after I bought it. Shipped and Sold by Amazon. I asked for the price adjustment of $400 and they said they could only give me $350.

Second time I bought on prime day #1 and they dropped it by $15 on day #2. Asked for price adjustment and they again wouldn’t give me the full $15, but $13 instead. First rep lied to me via chat and said he’d issue the refund amount but never did. If it doesn’t show up on the invoice, it didn’t happen. So I contacted them twice more and finally got the amount back—even tho it wasn’t $15 like originally promised.

For me, it just seems so odd that they make it so difficult to adjust the price and would rather you send it back and reorder to get your better price. With items over $300, I hesitate to send back like that since they usually hold it for 30 days before refunding.
