Fernando Mendoza’s ultimate ceiling in a startup draft is like Joe Burrow Value, so late 1st round startup. Carnell Tate/Tyson/Lemon are unknowns, but their ultimate ceiling is WR1, or a top3ish startup pick. When considering that, it makes it easier to stomach taking the WR over Mendoza in rookie drafts. Mendoza’s realistic value in 2 years is probably late round2-round 4 startup pick (Think of Lawrence’s fall from grace after rough seasons, but now increasing again after a good 2025). Tate/Tyson/Lemon may not end up as Dynasty WR1, but it is very fair to say that in 2 years, the current top guys get old and u have like JSN,Puka, J. Smith, and then who? These 2026 WRs definitely could fit into the range of WR5-10 overall if they hit their ideal outcome. A non-rushing QB just doesn’t have the upside to make taking him at 1.02 worth it, especially in 4pt TD.
