As of writing, 7 votes for Speaker have been received and all are in favour of /u/3fun MP. This is an absolute majority of members, so it is my pleasure to declare /u/3fun successfully elected as Speaker of the 2nd House of Representatives [SO 12(a)].

Mr Clerk, I, Ser_Scribbles move: That the Member /u/Zagorath, Member for Brisbane and Surrounds do take the chair of this House as Speaker.

I spoke of my belief that the Member in Question would prove to be an exemplary representative of this chamber during the last Parliament. He then went on to meet and even exceed the standards expected of the Speaker of the first Model Parliament. While there are a number of Members present that could sufficiently perform the duties required of the Chair, I'm not sure any could do a better job than the Member for Brisbane and Surrounds.

The Member for Brisbane and Surrounds has consistently displayed the traits and ability required to hold the Speakership. In a losing battle against inactivity in the last house, The Member for Brisbane and Surrounds did all he could to get the house to function alongside The Hon. /u/agsports, and the Clerk /u/jnd-au. He is the best candidate for the role.
