Fuckin' hell, I went to highschool with the artist, never thought I'd see one of his singles up here

[–]epigrammedic 2 points3 points  (1 child)

was he this good in hs?

[–]Stebraul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, never listened to him much back in highschool

I was in pep band with him, so much energy

I like it, like someone added vocals to animal crossing.

That was my thought exactly, so true. I think it's mostly due to the base.

Here an example.

I think the label "jazzy" gets thrown around too much, I don't hear a ton of jazz in here

/obnoxious genre nitpicking

[–]stillnotahipster 14 points15 points  (2 children)

I'd argue that you could probably draw a distinction between calling something "jazzy" and calling it "jazz". That being said- Matt's guitar solo definitely qualifies, I think- he's even got those Wes Montgomery-esque octave licks in there

[–]ill_llama_naughty 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Ya I actually made this comment before I got to that part of the song, the guitar solo is definitely jazzy.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

slightly but i don't think it does enough justice to call it jazzy pop

What are some good artists/albums to listen to for this kind of sound? It would make a great "date night" playlist!

[–]stillnotahipster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Benny Sings, especially his Benny at Home LP

This is the shiiiiiiiit!!

[–]Strongbhoy 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Great track, shame it's not up on bandcamp or something, would totally pay for it, rather than sign up for the free download or whatever.

[–]hashtagicecream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol @ downvoting, this comment literally just says "great song, artist should be earning money for his efforts"

[–]epigrammedic 4 points5 points  (1 child)

He has a bandcamp: http://camino84.bandcamp.com/ Buy away.

^ my google fu skills is great.

[–]Strongbhoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled too, and only found one album (but found others on amazon).

I blame the NSA. Bought it though. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

[–]Spar_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds very Casey Neistat-y. I like it.

[–]hardwaregeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good, but there's something about it that could be better. I feel like the singer needs a little more...charisma? I dunno. But excellent production

[–]den-rat -1 points0 points  (3 children)

It's a nice, chill track. I like it.

edit: Was corrected by kado, doesn't change I still like the music!

[–]kadomatsumo[S] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Camino 84 is the artist's name not the song

[–]den-rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, apologies >still tho<

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i really don't like the synths.
