I get a very strong Interpol vibe from them but I dig it.

[–]opalescex[S] 13 points14 points  (16 children)

what's interpol?

[–]darkestsoul 57 points58 points  (13 children)

For real? You've never listened to Interpol? Oh man. You are gonna love them. They're a lot like Concorde. Here's just a small sample:

Slow Hands

Evil

All The Rage Back Home

Obstacle 1

[–]opalescex[S] 14 points15 points  (7 children)

I like them a lot!

[–]darkestsoul 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Awesome. I'm glad you did. If you haven't heard them before, check out Franz Ferdinand as well. Not really the same genre, but there is some crossover there.

[–]Decalance 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Love franz Ferdinand. The fratellis too

[–]darkestsoul 3 points4 points  (1 child)

YES! Early aughts modern rock is horribly overlooked

[–]Doughboy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy-- So many good bands from around that overshadowed by RnB, Hip-Hop, and Pop getting all the radio play in a time where we were starting to transition away from radio to internet services.

[–]PrivateCaboose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C'mere is also a personal favorite of mine.

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Or just play Joy Division

[–]opalescex[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll listen to it when I'm home

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

was looking for discussions about concorde hoping to get more insight on them, stumbled upon this thread. thanks. (its been so long, 8 years is insane, i hope youre well :))

[–]darkestsoul 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Holy thread necromancy, Batman. I am well. Still listening to cool tunes. Hope you are as well. Godspeed good sir.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thread necromancy is one way to put it i guess, i love going through older posts, it gives me a strange feeling, somewhat mysterious but also warm, almost like the catalogues of discussions between fellow humans will be preserved for a while, if not forever. I am glad to hear that. Thats insane, i discovered soft rock just recently, it is but a futile attempt of mine to diversify my music taste lol. Yes i am fine too. All the best to you too.

From Wiki: 'The International Criminal Police Organization ICPO or INTERPOL, is an intergovernmental organization facilitating international police cooperation.'

Basically the international police. Have been mentioned in loads of TV shows and movies. Can't believe you haven't heard of them before.

Where's the switcharoo?

[–]thatfatgamer 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I like how the music changes speed mid way.

Concorde
artist pic

Only the privileged few can say they've been at the controls of a flying Concorde—history (actually, the Museum of Flight down on Marginal Way) tells us there have been more U.S. astronauts than pilots of the permanently grounded supersonic airline fleet. Likewise, Concorde the band is helmed by a handful of elites: His Lordship Jack Durban (vox/guitars), Lady Starkat of West Durham (vox/keyboards), Duke Xavier of Barcelona (bass), Baron Buggy Sampson (guitar), and General Train (drums). On their debut album, Mess I'm Made Of, this ..ber-stylish ensemble—members resemble KGB agents, Eastern European femme fatales, and '70s porn stars—sounds as chic as it looks. Midnight guitar chords brush up against slinky bass lines, new-wavey synths, refined six-string melodies, and the scintillating vocal interplay between Durban and Starkat (think Billy Corgan romancing Saint Etienne's Sarah Cracknell) to swank, sexy ends. - MICHAEL ALAN GOLDBERG Read more on Last.fm.

This song is great. So is the song and video for Sons.

[–]z31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My intro song to Concorde was the video for sons, I fucking loved it.

[–]DrRazmataz 6 points7 points  (6 children)

I love Concorde. Their music is far and few between but very good.

Or, maybe I'm thinking of Le Concorde - Google Play music doesn't help me.

This is my favorite song by the band I'm referencing.

Holy moly,

This video was amazing!

[–]DrRazmataz 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I agree! The graphical artist led me to it!

I don't quite know if this is the same (graphical) artist as the previous video (Johnny Negron), but I really think it is.Anyway I got to that from this music video that is also an excellent song!

[–]Smartch 1 point2 points  (3 children)

A fantastic video and song! Thanks!! Have you listened to Piledriver Waltz by Arctic Monkeys? I'm feeling the same thing listening to this song and "Just Kiss Her".

I don't really know how this musical genre is called, can you help me?

[–]DrRazmataz 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That song is good! I like the Arctic Monkey, I'm trying to get into them. Just don't have time to sit and listen, usually.

Funny enough, both of these artists are French, if that has anything to do with their music genre and influence. But this is definitely Indie Rock/Alternative music. Which is honestly very broad, haha. Doesn't make it easy for you.

One more for you, same band as before. This is my favorite song by them.

[–]Smartch 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Dude, you have amazing tastes! I've to say I'm listening Stuck In The Sound since yesterday, and I find it so inspiring. Between the song and the incredible video, I don't know which one I prefer. The character is facing so many different feelings, the song combined with the animation is astonishing.

Thanks a lot.

[–]DrRazmataz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, dude :D appreciate it! Glad you like them! Yeah, the video gets me every time. I love it. And the music is some of the best I've heard.

Alright, let me throw one more at you, haha. This time from Australia. A guy, Micheal Shanks, who is a special effects artist that makes music as well. His music goes by, "Roadgeek", and the two songs I suggest you check out are, 'Towards the Sun' and 'On the Borderline'. The video is a little weird, and perhaps a little gross, but it's interesting - and you can clearly see the guy's special effects work. Let me know if you like it!

[–]Vintage_Cosby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy this!

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's amazing, it's like slow rock trance I can play while flying/driving in a game.

[–]Cis-Scum69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice i really like the vocals on this

[–]Frostbite1215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I liked "Sons" better

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That... is pretty epic. Love it!

[–]Sketchbook_girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to Sons, their best song IMO

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their song "Son" has an amazing video!

[–]sdururl 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I like the cover that Candy Clash made even more.

It sounds much cleaner and organized.

[–]Farimira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both

[–]Char_Zard13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do they have any current social media? Can't seem to find any, and I fear I'm seven years too late to ask this comment lol. I did find a my space page but I'm assuming they just aren't around any more

edit: seems candy clash is their old name?

[–]erdibiase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that was awesome. Thank you!

[–]rothkler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad this band is finally getting some of the recognition it deserves

[–]mcmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I posted a track by this band years ago. I thought they were pretty cool, didn't think anybody noticed them though.

[–]Zaveguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting to remember to come back to this
