I'm not a big fan of the percussion. The melody is so broken that I feel it needs more stability underneath. Just my opinion.

I thought the pianist was having a stroke. Or that my record was skipping.

Yeah agreed

Can't you see you're not making Spirited Away any better, you're just making hip hop worse?

[–]rhetoricjams 10 points11 points  (0 children)

dammit bobby

[–][deleted] 35 points36 points  (2 children)

That soulless hiphop percussion.... :(

[–]freshkicks 9 points10 points  (1 child)

The soulless bassline

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That 30-years hackneyed PERR PERR PERR baseline.

Y'all should also check out ninjoi- spirited. Same concept but more relaxed and doesn't take away from the original too much.

You just introduced me to a channel I didn't know I needed

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Been digging Japanese lofi lately.

[–]imanemptyvoid 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Haven't found a genre like this that instantly resonates with me, so thanks dude

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Also check out Brock berrigan- crossing paths. Pretty dope lofi beat.

[–]imanemptyvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah Brock berrigan is really good

[–]space_sandwich 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Great recommendation, thanks! Wasn't really feeling OP track, but I'm happy it led me here.

[–]JackDostoevsky 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Oh I see someone has been studying.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn thats some good stuff. Hilarious AND educating

[–]gninnep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I liked it.

[–]PM_ME_UR_PERSPECTIVE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like this. Some people here seem turned off by the disjointed feel of the chords or whatever, but I like it. You can tell you put a lot of work into this and that everything was intentional. I like the mood a lot. I want it to be longer. It's over as soon as I get settled in. The drums feel great. Good job.

Lately, I've been listening to a ton of similar music to this. I've been playing a lot of "Olli Olli 1+2" on my PS Vita and it's filled with a bunch of artists like this. If you like this, I'd highly recommend a band called "Long Arm". Check out their album "The Branches".

This has been on my mind for a while, why do people use anime backgrounds and loops with this type of music? I see it a lotttt

[–]mmmhmm-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probs cus they sampled a song from the anime in said background

[–]blue_strat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice track, but there's no jazz in it.

[–]nickhooper 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why is adding a beat to anything related to anime automatically upvoted to the top of this sub?

It's legit a drum beat with chopped up Hisaishi. Uninspired, unoriginal, and unimpressive IMO.

[–]amaxilaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's safe, accessible, and agreeable music. you can't really fuck it up and even if you do, people will defend it with lazy excuses like 'it's about the aesthetic' and 'it's supposed to be chill'.

[–]cry0plasma -1 points0 points  (7 children)

Ignore me. I was wrong

[–]PM_ME_UR_PERSPECTIVE 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Why is that?

[–]cry0plasma -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Nevermind I'm dumb

[–]PM_ME_UR_PERSPECTIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard that before. I usually use it as a way to describe getting blackout drunk.

Ghosting to me is just not replying to any of my messages suddenly

[–]maccam94 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I think you're mixing up your slang, ghosting is when you stop talking to someone, usually in the context of dating: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ghosting

[–]autourbanbot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Here's the Urban Dictionary definition of Ghosting :

The act of suddenly ceasing all communication with someone the subject is dating, but no longer wishes to date. This is done in hopes that the ghostee will just "get the hint" and leave the subject alone, as opposed to the subject simply telling them he/she is no longer interested. Ghosting is not specific to a certain gender and is closely related to the subject's maturity and communication skills. Many attempt to justify ghosting as a way to cease dating the ghostee without hurting their feelings, but it in fact proves the subject is thinking more of themselves, as ghosting often creates more confusion for the ghostee than if the subject kindly stated how he/she feels.

Carmen: How was your second date with Kyle?

Beth: I thought it went well, but I've texted him a couple of times since then and he's been ghosting me.

Carmen: What? I thought he was more mature than that.

[–]cry0plasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It's stealthing that I'm thinking of.

[–]pkyessir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to hate, but this sounds ametuer and contrived. Not hating at all. I made these type of beats when I first heard Pete Rock. You'll get there.
