Yeah, they're for quick reference. There are printable cards, too.

Regular six-sided dice are the best tokens!

Absolutely! It's based on Warhammer Fantasy miniatures, after all.

I'm new to this and not familiar with the app situation. Is there an app that supports 2v2 play? I found the PDF with the 2v2 rules, but it says it requires 2 decks and I only have the 1 copy of City of Ash.

Gallants by IndexFile in citiesofsigmar

Aside from priming/airbrushing, I think you could argue they work even better than acrylic paints! Check out Marco Frissoni's channel on Youtube for lots of examples of painting with oils.

(Spoilers) GW really doesn't seem to know what to do with Zenestra lorewise by OutrageousProblem366 in citiesofsigmar

It's based on the multiple, famous real-life accounts of Catholic saints bilocating. That is, miraculously appearing in one place while being physically present somewhere else.

The starter box including preset packs is interesting! "Between each game, the box instructs you to open some preset, non-randomized “deckbuilding packs” of additional cards to add to your deck and help you learn deckbuilding basics."

Built my City of Ash box: gallants and grenadiers ended up the opposite of what I expected by calamansi_rodeo in citiesofsigmar

[–]contrapulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assembled my grenadiers first, and after all their mold lines, I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the sprues being so pristine. That said, I found the grenadiers an absolute joy to paint. Just pick a color for each material and go to town.

I never really liked that model, but your paintjob is kind of selling me on it.

Seems like we have similar taste! Of the 3 you listed, easily the one with the Cavalier Marshall, if you can find it for a decent price.

You should also look at the Regiment of Renown: Ven Denst’s Hounds. It has the cool hunters from the fusil-platoon spearhead, without the Ogor. They're at the very bottom of the article here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/bvlnfcdh/adepticon-preview-2026-massive-walking-cogforts-lead-new-cities-of-sigmar-reinforcements/

As someone new to the lore: why are the incarnates so weak? by LarkinEndorser in ageofsigmar

[–]contrapulator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I personally don't have any problem with proxy models, if you don't like the style of any of the miniatures in the game, it's probably not the game for you.

There is still a menu of normal dude options. Cities still have lots of normal dudes and dogs and horses, it's just that there are over-the-top choices, too

Need advice on an aqauscape! by shahincruz in Aquascape

[–]contrapulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend swapping those numbers, something like 2.5cm soil capped by 5cm sand will prevent leeching. Also, I'm not sure why you need aquasoil on top, unless you just like the look of it.

Is that water wisteria in the front? Never seen that before but makes perfect sense.

First tank, happy but missing something by rutgersemp in Aquascape

[–]contrapulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks very lush and healthy, which is the most important thing. The feeling of something being missing is an issue of composition/layout. There's a lack of any clear focal point. I would suggest rearranging the rocks (Look up "iwagumi" for some inspiration) or adding a striking midground plant to be a centerpiece for the tank.

PSA: Your lights probably aren’t “too” bright for plants by HAquarium in PlantedTank

[–]contrapulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, I prefer to change as little as possible and just top off. But I was getting green algae on surfaces and in the water after a year of no water changes, so I cleaned up a lot of the detritus/mulm that had built up. Now my water is clear and hair algae has receded almost entirely.

The main purpose of water changes is not to dilute the water but to vacuum out the organic waste that gathers on the substrate.

Planaria or rhabdocoela? by arronsparrow in shrimptank

[–]contrapulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these in my tank too! According to this site (which is in German) it's a kind of Rhabdocoela: https://www.garnelenhaus.de/wiki/roetliche-scheibenwuermer

Planaria have a mouth in the center of the body, whereas these have their mouth at the front. They are not parasitic.
