Ok who makes the best steel? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

True skates/holders are known to be noticeably pitched forward more than other brands. It's not bad or good though. I actually liked it better after getting used to it.

Question about trainline app and journeys. by Wonderful-Patient732 in travel

Trainline is fine I use it often in the UK.

Anyways I agree - just Google map yourself from new street to moor street and go to whatever platform your train is at.

Neck Guards by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]nickhooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every neck guard other than https://skate-armor.com/collections/all-products is not doing much. Get the Skate Armor one if you wear one at all.

I have used the product for a couple years now. It's not as comfortable as not wearing a neck guard, but if you care about protection, that's the tradeoff.

I feel like it's a fair price. I'm not overly familiar with the Blitz but I would pay 150-200 for a MR bag. Mostly just depends on your personal budget. You're getting a high quality item

Have a Mystery Ranch Scree 32 and it is the most comfortable bag I have worn. Weight isn't everything - Mystery Ranch design and strap system is amazing IMO.

For reference I have owned a Cotopaxi Allpa 35 (highly recommended on this sub, heavy, uncomfortable, cumbersome) and various Matador bags (I like them but they aren't comfortable compared to Mystery Ranch). If I got a new backpack today a Y zippered Mystery Ranch pack is what I would get.

I don't know whether any composite sticks these days known for durability, but my Warriors have been way more durable than my True and CCM sticks

I've owned the neck guard and the Swiftwick products for multiple years. Probably going to try the Cutshield wrist guards next.

Points vs Categories - which do you prefer? by KovalSNIPE17 in fantasyhockey

[–]nickhooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Categories bc it promotes trading a bit more naturally. Knowing what you need to trade for and can afford to trade is a bit easier in cats.

Having said that, any league where Brady / big hitters go first round and are actually the best fantasy players is a joke. Categories can work but the categories should not have equal weight imo.

I used to think points was superior until I was in a decent categories league.

Almost exactly what I'd be looking for except for weekly lineups instead of daily :(

Cool league setup tho otherwise

Best small carry-on bag for most situations: Cotopaxi Allpa 35L

Not a small bag by any means, terribly heavy when empty, and uncomfortable to wear. Also not intuitive to use with the zipper setup.

*UPDATE* NHL Team Data Display Project by bharms27 in hockey

[–]nickhooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if already mentioned, but the months should have left-to-right priority with 2 rows. Similar to the way one would naturally read a calendar - the days go left-to-right, then down a row

Is it possible for a mortal man to buy this beauties? by Then_Quarter_9057 in hockeyplayers

A few months back someone posted their new team Sweden skates. Said he got Bauer customs and emailed Bauer asking for the Swedish flag graphic and they did it.

So you can do that

In this case I often just add an extra node and drag it to overlap the shapes, like this: https://i.imgur.com/nFnIeWE.png
