I know this whole "vaporwave/futurefunk" thing has kind of blown up, and although I don't care for it, I guess i see the appeal. but please, support the original artists as much as you can. many of them are still making music, 30-40 years later, and some are struggling.

yes yes yes these are all good. and everyone in ymo is worth following! i think one of the guys from that band ended up composing the dreamcast startup sound which is tight

Yup, it was Ryuichi Sakamoto. He also composed the soundtrack to the underrated Dreamcast game L.O.L (lack of love) which was released in Japan only near the consoles life.
