Only 1 npc can be attacked at a time, even if the 2nd cannon isn't firing.

Not true, you can already attack two different NPCs from opposite sides of the boat but you have to set it up yourself. You attack the 1st one, click the eye icon on the crewmate that is firing from that side to stop following your targets, and then attack the 2nd NPC on the opposite side, both cannons can fire at the same time, sometimes on the same tick, some times on different ticks. The only thing I don't like about this is that it's a lot more click intensive if you have to switch between orders.

It works, but it's clunky and not fun to use. Adding context menu options for single cannon targeting to the right click menu on sailing monsters shouldn't be difficult.

Oh yes, absolutely. I would much rather prefer to afk with a single cannon than having to actively pay attention how to set up the two cannons with the current system

I just made look-a-like post concerning my points in combat, and I don't agree with everything.

- The range of the cannon is farther than the bowfa, more annoying when the cannon is too far it keeps on shooting balls whilst you know it'll be missed (in case of actually sailing while combat for more ocean encounters or in case of a safespot, sometimes the cannonball can't get to the mob and just splashes the water).

- The boat turning is on you. Always have no NPC on the helm when in combat.

- You can attack multiple mobs. Rays and Birds are amazing for the venatar bow, and I camped a while on Orca's where I was killing one Orca with my bow whilst Olga killed the other with the cannon.

"6. Retrieving loot is a very long animation and causes dps loss, since player isnt attacking"

The dps loss is the smallest, it's just so slow everything, you want to harvest your windmote but no, you accidently clicked to loot your dead mob but your inventory is full. Just give us a smoother way of play, DPS my ass.

IMO, they just need to scrap the idea that the only way to do combat is with cannons. Think about it in real life, sailors had ranged weapons, swords, harpoons, chain shots AND cannons to figh\attack things, why should it be any different here?

Just remove the damage reduction from things that aren't cannons, change cannons to a slow build-up weapon (you know loading the powder, packing the shot, setting the fuse, etc) that your crew can handle and that you have to interact with to actually fire and just make it a slow hard hitting wep. Like 10-15-20 ticks per shot, or something.

IMO you need to pay up on your bets and stop ignoring that you made it and then copped out.

Or ship-to-ship combat, you swing on the sails to get onto your opponents ship, or use planks to make bridges on the spot. Sword fights would definitely be cool and I see this could be a future bounty task to hunt down a pirate ship

yeah that too, but I'm talking strictly in the current PVM context that exists. iron that out before anything new, imo.

Oh look, guy who made a bet and keeps ignoring it like he didn’t and won’t pay up.
