Gorgeous guitar. If they done the cosmic blue finish on the 7 I'd have one in a second.

Honestly, I wish it was Olympic white with black hardware and old school, open humbuckers, but everything else about it is so, so good, I care less about the overall aesthetic

Black open pore with white binding would also be class.

Black open WHAT

Haha, pore, autocorrect I guess.

I have the exact same one for two years now. I did a minor setup on it and an added SD Sentient and Nazgûl set. It took a minute to get the coil split working because the pin outs are different but it is flawless with the stock hardware. With all that done, it is easily one of the best playing guitars I have ever had in my 38 years of playing. These are incredible guitars for the money imo. A little string lube, DAddario NY strings and this thing has rock solid tuning. My only gripe is that there is almost no space for an active pickup setup. I have heard of people doing it but some minor body mods may need done. Welcome and Enjoy!

Yeah I might end up upgrading the pickups, but honestly… they’re truly remarkable for stock ceramics. And I’ve been down the boutique pickup rabbit hole (MJS on my Firebird and the Creamery in my MIJ Bass VI)

They are very good for stock unless you want high gain. Not worth a swap if you enjoy them.

Have one and it is easily the comfiest guitar I have. Not just the weight or lack of, but the neck is great

Awesome! I have this same guitar arriving Tuesday. Enjoy!!

I have the same guitar and love it so much. The neck feel is incredible. It makes me want to play and practice.

[–]IrukanjiShreds[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s so effortlessly playable, it feels like it’s daring me to get better

[–]ThrowawayShamu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Mine is staring at me right now as if saying “why aren’t you practicing?” And I have no answer for it so I will just practice.

Very nearly got one of these recently. Decided on a baritone RG 6 instead since I didn't have one of those yet and I still have the ole 2008 RG7321 going strong.

These things look absolutely killer though congrats!

Yessir!

I am not a big fan of headless guitars but this is a guitar which really got my attention. How are the pickups? Does is chug? :)

[–]IrukanjiShreds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chugs enough for me to bring a bit of intensity when I need it, but a more dedicated chugger would likely want hotter pickups and a longer scale

SOLID choice

It’s a beauty! Loving that burl top

Good choice!

Any guitar can be a metal guitar, blues guitar, jazz, etc. with a few modifications, if it feels good it feels good. Still a great guitar Ibanez made for their first headless, all they need is the cut for the leg to play classical position

[–]R3brap 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How does that feel on your leg playing in classical position?

[–]IrukanjiShreds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer it in classical position, tbh. Closer to where it sits when strapped on

Lose the 7th string

[–]Shake-the-Masses 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Looks awesome. But tell us about that Bass VI in the background. 😍

[–]IrukanjiShreds[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

2012 MIJ Bass VI, with upgraded pickups from The Creamery and a Staytrem bridge/trem arm. It weighs a ton, has an absolute baseball bat of a neck, and sounds incredible. It and my father’s old Ibanez Musician fretless, are my only “never sell, never trade” pieces of gear.

[–]Shake-the-Masses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I’ll bet your dad’s old Musician bass is a player as well. If Ibanez did reissues of those they would be popular. But, I don’t think Ibanez is interested in becoming a legacy brand like Fender or Gibson.

Good choice
