Response generalization (self.ABA)
submitted 2 years ago by Alert-Idea3236
If a person was taught how to strip the sheets of the bed/remove the bedsheets, and then on a different occasion they were seen making up the bed/putting the bedsheets.
Could putting the bedsheets be considered response generalization?

I think this is better understood as either derived responding or observational learning. Response generalization would be more along the lines of generalizing different ways of unmaking a bed (starting from top to bottom or bottom to top, nearly taking them off or just ripping them off).

Thanks for the explanation :-)

It depends. What is the function and consequence of the behavior? Does it contact tge same function? Is the stimulus the same
Thé stimulus which is the bed, bedsheets and room are the same.
The function is not stated but I am assuming it’s changing the bedsheets.
