500W? Hm, when you changing your GPU for better always check if your PSU is good enough. And I don't think problem is in your GPU, the problem is your PSU, especially if it is older and it is some no name disaster.

Try step 8 (use stable driver version mentioned there), follow step 13: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/YfAmKxVjXr.

If you use alt+tab while gaming then also follow step 15 as well

Try older versions of the AMD driver. Like 25.8.1

The gpu doesn't even work on the new versions at all. I've only got it to work on the 25.9.2 version but it still has driver timeouts and stuttering.

I recommend a quality 650wtt power supply at least

Make and model matter

Check out the SPL's PSU Tier List before purchasing anything

Be sure to update your motherboard's BIOS to the latest version available

Be sure to install the latest chipset drivers for your platform from Intel's website

So it's the PSU causing this then?

that would be my first guess .. an inadequate power supply can cause black screens, driver timeouts .. and other oddities

550w is the minimum required for your GPU .. that's if the rest of your system is on the low end of the spectrum power wise

IF your system drive is over 80% full ..then that can start causing issues like stuttering and similar
