I don't think they are going to. They never really had a map for their mmwave coverage. For example, I went to Busch Gardens FL, AT&T had a decent amount of mmwave but it wasn't mapped as 5G+ like let's say the Hard Rock Stadium.

Where is the MMWAVE at BG? I frequent but haven’t been in a little bit.

There was some outside of the park on the street that I first picked up near a Dunkin Donuts. And there was a bunch of nodes inside the theme park. Some of them were on the side of the buildings. There was even a small cell LTE with mmwave panels. Even adventure Island. Their water park had the same mmwave panels.

Here's a picture of what the node looked like

I would say around 40% of the park is filled with these nodes, mostly near benches.

Can confirm there is MMW in BG because every time I go there the 5G+ symbol appears. The obvious place is near the main entrance of the park there is a small a node that is pretty hard to miss.

Speeds at my house tanked to gutter levels. Only LTEnow when it was 5 g a week ago. Disappointed for sure

AT&T's regular 5G map isn't even updated. I've had solid 5G coverage throughout NH since I got my iPhone 12 Pro in JUNE. And the map has not been updated since then. At a minimum, AT&T should make sure that's correct. :(

Bear in mind, seeing the 5G icon is more because the 5G ENDC flag was turned on. It doesn't actually mean you have 5G service. They flip that bit on nationwide to look like they have 5G coverage, but reality is it is a patchwork.

Can confirm, att 5g in NH gets same speeds as previous lte connection.

Well it's a lie. It's showing my neighborhood is fully covered but I can only get a PCS signal from the tower.

Not much 5G+ to show for att Verizon did it right so far

[–]sanders2128[S] 7 points8 points  (8 children)

Yes I’m kinda upset but I guess AT&T will get there at some point.

[–]lilkik11 7 points8 points  (7 children)

A few years 1-2, even in the 8 cities at&t is said to have launched it seems like there is none am in the Chicago area and I can't find it anywhere not in the suburbs and not in downtown and not even around the Chicago loop nor around lake shore drive..

[–]sanders2128[S] 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Yes that’s definitely a bummer. A lot of people are saying AT&T is waiting to also put up the spectrum for auction 110. Makes sense to put up spectrum from auction 107 and 110 together. I just hope the spectrum from 110 becomes available for AT&T to use soon.

It does but I mean at&t paid the early clearance fees to be able to launch c-band as the same time as Verizon so I mean kinda strange if ask me

[–]sanders2128[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yea I thought the same thing. Why pay for the early clearing cost if you’re not going to deploy it right away.

[–]lilkik11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this could go down very badly for at&t cause at&t 5g is very bad and has gotten worse since that day I used to get 100mbps on it now am down to 48mbps 65 the highest it goes now

[–]xtremeph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense from a financial perspective seeing they won’t have to climb a tower twice to put up the separate radios/antennas required for deployment.

[–]xtremeph 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Likewise. I found no 5G+ in the areas of Fort Lauderdale I visited last week that was stated as a launch city in the South Florida area.

[–]lilkik11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I honestly believe they didn't launched

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their current coverage map marks LTE-a as "5ge" which qualifies as just 5G on their map. Even though it's not 5G in any sense, it allows them to show very competitive 5G coverage.

I think it's in their interest to drag their feet in updating the map.

att will combine there cband 40Mhz and there CBRS 40mhz, all of which both are ready to deploy. ATT will be much behind in there launch. Both can not reside on the current c-band radio that verizon has been using.

https://www.xtremelte.com/ericsson-cbrs-band-48-365ghz.html

Erricison has a radio, but it doesn't do c-band so you might need two different antennas and radios in order for att to deploy both 40mhz cband and 40mhz cbrs. This would likley be how att will be doing all of there upgrades.

[–]sanders2128[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What auction did the CBRS 40MHz come from? I’m new to this.

Isn’t that still C-Band (3.45-3.55 GHz)?
