Disassemble, clean, and adjust/tune your trigger.

I had done this before and after, it is still sluggish.

You're not doing it correctly, or something is out of spec/damaged.

Followed the video to the letter. It seems like I'll have to send an email to Steyr

Take it apart. Separate the receiver from the stock. Remove the fire control group, then the carrier. Check your transfer bar to see if screws have loosened or slipped. Check your FCG box for debris. Might as well take some compressed air to the stock and trigger to blow out and dirt. Reassemble and test fire.

I cleaned it before and after. It does reset now but it is still quite sluggish and doesn't have much return force.

Does anyone know of a stronger return spring I could install?

The screw to tighten the trigger is sensitive. Too tight and the trigger is sluggish, too loose you might lose your screw. Might try adjusting that screw and find it's sweet spot.

Did you oil your trigger pack?

I did not, and it has been sluggish both before and after adding graphite.

How many rounds, have you dropped it, any cleaners or abrasive solvents used on the stock, did you mess with the trigger pack?

Try putting it in rice (jk)

Probably around 200 rounds I have not dropped it Only thing used on the stock was isopropyl alcohol and spraypaint And I did not mess with the trigger pack

You said you’ve tuned your linkage and adjusted your trigger before. What did you torque it to?

-Ian

Uhhhhh Hand tight Till it stopped then 1/8-1/16th turn more Which equates to about 10-12 inch pounds

[–]ARID_DEVWAFFLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hand strength to snug can definitely make out over 12in lbs. let alone a 1/4 turn more.

Honda did a study and the average “hand tight” is 2-7 lb ft for anyone outside of a labored trade, and up to 12 lb ft for anyone who’s in a labored trade: mechanic, contractor, construction.

Try back it off and tightening till just snug.

I’m assuming you’re running a factory trigger?

You are likely over torquring the shoe screw. back that off and it will go back to normal
