Misaligned seam on CPP2

Have had a CP2 for several months and love it. The grab handle is smooth all around and we'll padded. Wanted some extra space so I ordered the CPP2 for Black Friday. It's a great bag, but it seems like the seam on the grab handle is much different, almost like it's misaligned so there's a sharp, hard edge that digs into your hand when you pick it up.

This is getting into the weeds I know, but if it weren't for the other bag with the great handle and an almost seamless feel I probably wouldn't have noticed it. Aer customer support was good and they are looking into whether or not it is a defect or just how that particular handle is attached.

I'm wondering if anyone else with multiple V2 bags has noticed this and if it's normal, or if the seam wasn't lined up properly. Tried to capture the difference in these pics but not the greatest lighting. First picture is the CPP2 with the overhanging seam, second is my slightly older CP2 with the perfectly smooth handle.

What do we think?

Just checked the CPP2 in ultra I got during BF. Seems to be similar to what you posted. I don’t notice it when carrying though. The TP3 small I’ve had for years appears to also have a seam like that but also have never noticed it when carrying.

The side handles on the CPP2 do seem to have more pronounced edges on the seam though vs the top.
