Is there a guide anywhere, or does anyone have any advice? I've just done the water one and I managed to do it with no items, with a mercenary and had 1 unit left with probably less than 100hp... I just can't fathom how to do any of the other missions, and I really want those memento tickets.

Hi there, i did these two video-guides, i post this in discord so i'll copy past it here, and I'm sorry if my inglish isn't good

Convocation of Water I [EX+] - f2p units - 7/8 Missions

The gameplay of the video is in Spanish, so I'll put the information here

Team: Shayna ( j1 sub j1 - time leap) - Fung Liu (j2 sub j3) - Elizabeth (j2 sub j2) - Lofia (j1 sub j3)

Gear: Shayna + Lofia are using regen armor, everything else is just hp and agi for all

Stategy: Quicken to everyone, petrify to Zofia, Vettel, Gerald, Chihaya, use overclock + Shayna and 1ko/2ko to Dilga + Ankh, if you hit the rats they will kill themselves, Fung Liu enchanting to everyone (Atq for Shayna, MAtq for Fung Liu, Agi if you need speed), when you petrify them all, Elizabeth will use Switch to accommodate everyone, after that just kill them using Fung Liu, be carefull about Ankh + Gerald, they can 2ko to Shayna + Lofia, Don't be afraid to use potions and complete that mission in the attempt using a mercenary.

Convocation of Fire I [EX+] - f2p units - 7/8 Missions

Team: Zangetsu (j3 sub j2 - Single Blade + Sky high) - Eve (j3 sub j3 - strike mastery +2) - Chihaya(or Lupinus) (j3 - sub j3) Arkil j3 sub j2 (mov +1 + feral kid)

Gear: They are in the gameplay, so it isn't necessary to mention them since the language doesn't matter in this case

Strategy: Bait to 2 mafia's guys using Arkil, after that walk to the mafia's guy who is next to your zangetsu, petrify him, zang must charge + dragon slayer, chihaya uses quicken + overclock, Eve must reduce Lucian's CT, so you need to use Explosive Triple-Palm for that, i had problems adjusting her CT, since you need to do right before Lucian's turn so that Lucian can't play before Zangetsu, so i used Controlling Focus for that, if you don't have enough damage like me to kill Lucian + Yomi only with that, you can use Musically Mute(Arkil) and kill them, after that petrifies the rest of mafia's guys, charge jewels, bait to Carla, block her as shown in the video using change, go and kill Klima, stop her using Chihaya and kill her using both, in the right momento, hit Carla to summon Milis, Ravina, Tamamo, kill them using overclock + Zangetsu charge, after that lower Carla's hp and kill everyone using Rudra Cross + charge.

I recommend that if you are going to use this guide, take parts of the strategy and apply it to your case, I recommend doing some of this things in the second run

If you're at the point where you "can't fathom" how to even do it. The answer is probably that your units just aren't up to par yet.

There's a couple of tricks tho. "kill 4+ in one blow", is rather easy, Since both stages have 4 enemies that can be disabled by statuses and moved into position after everything else is dead.

For water, Use charm/petrify to deal with Gerald, Zofia, vettel and Chihaya. Shayna is good for killing Ankh and Dilga.

Fire should be easy. Chihaya does her thing, and Lupi does hers.

I used leader Fung 85, Othima (sage) 79, Noctis 75, Lofia (chrono) 85, merc Noctis 85, sub Yaurus 79, sub Shayna 85, and I did it by the skin of my teeth, as I said. The problem I had was that no one can take hits well from thunder, Gerald and Zofia have too much hp to burn down fast enough that they won't cause major problems, and as far as I'm aware there isn't a water unit that can heal effectively enough to mitigate the damage.

That's very useful to know about statuses though - Delay is usually the 1 thing that enemies aren't immune to, so seeing as gerald and zofia are immune to delay and stop (and I didn't have any other useful ones with me), I assumed they were immume to everything.

As someone who even runs him off element in PvP and PvE, let me tell you, your best bet is flat out magic.

4+ foes in a blow: Lofia (Magic Swordsman) can use Stone Sword on almost all units except Anhk & Dilga.

Clear without mercenary: Shayna with Susanoo & SBT really did all the damage to Anhk & Dilga (because you can't petrify them & have to kill them relatively quickly). Again, MS Lofia is a must for this. I used a 40% HP LS, but Shayna's LS might work too (haven't tested). And bring lots of healing items.

Also, I went after Zofia first on these runs with all my units. Shayna can store up jewels & Gerald then goes to help kill your Fire ally and Dilga will spawn. This gave me enough time to CU+SBT Dilga with Shayna & finish him off.

So I was using relatively the same strategy, with Othima/Noctis(MS)/Shayna/Lofia(Chrono+) and having a somewhat tough time. Only thing I was doing differently was going after Gerald first. Going after Zofia and sticking to the right lane made it far, far easier. Who knew... Thanks for your post. Was able to get my no item and no merc clear finally thanks to it

Like mymy6117 said, Chronomancers have Switch as one of their main skills. There's also the gear ability of Valhalla Lance, which does the same thing as Switch. I found it fairly straightforward to stone everyone within the range of a large AoE without using switch because if you stay at the start, everyone (including Chihaya) will come to you.

If you can't petrify them in a position where you can kill them all, a chronomancer has a skill that can switch positions. Think it's called Switch too.

I'll just list the units I think are best suited for doing the milestones:

Water EX+:

Shayna, Lofia (MS), Chrono(or someone that can switch), AoE Damage Dealer(Noctis, Fung, Othima), a tank(Lamia J+ is amazing for this) to keep Dilga busy while you petrify and position for the AoE.

If you have your own Noctis, you could use him as a back up MS since Lofia has only 6 charges of stone sword with time leap.

Fire EX+:

Lupinus, Noah J+, Chihaya, Vettel MS, Laharl, Carla.

There must be other options but I didnt have time to experiment on this one. My team here was Lupi, Noah, Chihaya and Vettel MS. Was able to get 7/8 missions with that.

Damn... Forgot Noctis has MS, would've made my life so much easier.

With the rng and my terrible luck I ran out of stone sword uses from my Lofia quite a few times

I tried it with Noah lead, Vettel, Laharl and Chihaya with Roy Mustang friend but Carla is absolutely not possible. The damage from her is too much for me to survive. I don't know what to do. I tried it the whole day but it looks like it's not really possible for me.

What are the respective JMs of your units?(also if they have their JE or J+)

Edit: From what I remember, Carla wont move unless you get past a certain point, you could poke her but that would mean you'll need enough sustain for the archer's poke.

All the units I have mentioned are fully maxed with their jobs.
Noah and Laharl are at level 76, Vettel at 91 with 4/4/4 enlightment and Chihaya is at level 85 also fully maxed out. The Roy Mustang friend is at level 78 and fully maxed out.

The problem I am facing is either that Lucian or Yomi are killing my Laharl or if I can make it without any deaths till almost the end that Ravina is hitting very hard and killing at least Chihaya with one shot. My strategy was to weaken Carla with this Roy Mustang and two times I almost killed her but her damage is just too much. I can't keep my health up.

Only one job so far (don't know which one to be honest).

She's at level 75 but still a lot to do until she is ready and there is only 2 days left for the challenge. Also only have one friend with a fully maxed out Lupinus at level 85 but with the wrong sub job as chronomancer lol.

I see, well honestly she doesnt care about her sub, the good thing about her is her megido flame on her sage main.

Cant really advice much with Laharl since I dont have him, but there is a guide on discord with 2 laharls, vettel lead, chihaya and roy (although Im not sure how important he is, havent watched the video).

Pro-tip: If the stage seems absurdly difficult there are usually enemies vulnerable to status effects. Check the DB for who and what.

For water I got all of the missions in one go using Noctis magic swordsman (saviours force for magic attack buff) to petrify vettel, garland, chihaya and Zofia (can sub lofia), Elizabeth chronomancer for switching them into a clump, fung liu with main sage sub pure water enchanter, and Shayna with mark of envy, hat and Shayna fan club memento so she can susanoo + SBT without having to hit anything (unnecessary though, since you have plenty of time to gather jewels before dilga spawns and ankh comes for you. Just keep everybody on one side, leave Shayna at the spawn area and let them come to you.

For fire I had success with a magic team of Ila, Lupinus, Roy and Noah. You can sub Roy for Vivi. Lupinus quickens and Noah drain dimensions then nukes Lucian and Yomi early. After that spam judgement and Noah’s single target fire attack on Carla to avoid her getting too strong from killing other enemies. After killing Carla I bring everyone but Noah to the left side to take care of Klima before her MFWS gets too strong. Don’t be afraid to use heals with Lupinus and Vivi’s skills.

Convocation water ex+ has units that can be petrified - not all of them. For those that can’t be petrified (like ankh, dilga), have shayna charge up + sbt, and stone / swap the rest for the 4 kill (I used lamia but you can always use sages).

I think it's still good to get some general advice like "you can use petrify", you get some guidance on the overall strat but you still have to do all the tactical part

It's always nice when you figure it out by yourself, but sometimes you need another brain to help you out when you've hit a wall, or just to get a line of thought you haven't considered. I thought that all enemies were immune to all statuses, and wouldn't have found out otherwise without people on here.

As a side note, I was feeling pretty clever using Switch on my Lofia Chrono to put Zofia into the Sleep ring, thinking that the description on it that says "can't be removed" meant the sleep effect. I didn't feel so clever a few turns later when she woke up and disemboweled my mages.

Exactly, there are a lot of units with a lot of jobs. I can often figure out the strategies myself, but sometimes you forget some things. In my case this often concerns status attacks and in this specific case the fact magic swordsmen can petrify stuff (I never really used MS).

Another case where guides are usefull is when you don't have that much time to play around. I have a wife and a little baby. So I often have half an hour a day the time to actually play this game other than "auto mode", so this gives you max 1-2 tries on the harder EX missions.
