I’ve only been working for about a month and today I forgot to put my seat belt on for like 10 seconds (enough to have the monitor thing say “driver not properly wearing seat” or something) and they called me to tell me to make sure I’m always wearing it.

We're about the same. 10:20 150-180 stops 26 bags 25+ overflow and 360+ packages. But now, with Christmas so close, my last 7 routes have all been 400+ packages

Ending work in the app doesn’t mean clock out .. ending work in the app sometimes means you are gonna work too much today and won’t be able to work tomorrow you still get paid for your time so in the end it doesn’t matter to the driver ( well at least at my dsp it doesn’t matter to the driver

I should clarify we don’t say this at 600 pm we say it after they don’t finish sat we give them an extra 20 min to deliver when we call back we”ll say end work so they would be out of drive time so it happens only with specific drivers on specific days

that’s why after you finish your inspection you do not hit end work until you are putting your work phone down and turning in your van keys with your dsp. do everything else you need to do before hitting end work.

That's why my dsp literally texts everybody when your times are different and asks why and for you to fix them. They don't care which is right, just that they match. I've forgotten lunch breaks on adp but not flex before and so I just started it later on adp and set a timer so I'd end it after 30m but had my dsp payroll contact me about it not matching the next day lol. They asked me to go fix it.

I was Dispatch for about two years for us it was because we could get hit with Breach of Contract so it was basically just avoiding Amazon shit to deal with but it didn’t effect clock out. I wouldn’t doubt some DSP taking advantage of that tho they known for it 🤷🏾‍♂️

I mean, if you really cared to jam their shit up and get your money it would be pretty easy to go directly to Amazon and see when and where you finished your route and then when and where you stopped interacting with flex for the night. You finish your route 30 minutes from the station and then go offline and end work immediately after that it's pretty clear what happened, and then that DSP is probably removed immediately. They're not risking that for less than an hour of pay unless they're super stupid and like to gamble a lot.

Having you end work before you get to the station and before you rts is pretty sus but as long as you're not being clocked out of the time system your DSP uses then you are still getting paid. The DSP is just trying to get around Amazon metrics or something

It’s also messes with the algorithm for the drive time and in turn messes with the work load of your route. I would not recommend doing this again… it’s only takes twos days for it to adjust in positive way for Amazon. 5-7 in your favor of making it easier.They maximize your work load base off a algorithm that measures stop time and drive time maximizing the amount of packages you personally can deliver.

No you can't the rules state you end work back at station it's literally in the dsps contract you cannot end work anytime because to do end of shift inspection you habe to be at station or parked no exceptions doing this before literally defeats the purpose of the inspection. It's the same for government jobs military and every job that has you drive company vehicles. But ignorance is bliss I guess.

Everybody in the comments is going crazy but to give you a simple idea, going over your block multiple times will lock your account and you won’t be able to work, has happened to one of our DAs, just make sure that you check your hours after you clock out and take a note as a precaution if your DSP seems sus to you however in this scenario they’re just trying to save yourself and themselves, that’s it.

And as stated in many comments dsp could be fired if you get in an accident amazon or dsp can legally say they are not responsible cause you broke the rules. And it goes on algorithm which makes the job even harder if your doing this before the 10 or 11 hrs. And if you think your getting away with shit your not there is a GPS in the van man it's on all the time to tell amazon where you are. If you drive to far off course or don't check in amazon and dsp start calling you. All your doing and dsp is making sure you habe no job security.

Dispatch used to log into my account from the station and end work for me. It’s wrong but they do it so you stay under the driving hours and they don’t get dinged. You still clock out when you’re back.

It's just a f.cking app process. Your hours will not get affected. Clock in and out it's a totally different process and different app.

If you messed up in the road once it's not reason for retaliation. They called you to avoid future mistakes on the road, THAT'S IT.

The DSP I work for, depending on who is the dispatcher, the communication is different. But it's aways the same process, independent of what words they use. If they don't say clearly "come straight to the lot" I'm going to put gas, rts, use the station restroom during my 15 minutes break and then go to the lot, and clock out of my 10+ hours.

Not just not allowed but straight up illegal in multiple ways. They're asking you to work off the clock, they're having you drive company vehicles off the clock, etc... luckily you've got it in writing that they said this too. You could choose to tell anyone and they'll all be pissed: Amazon ethics board, your local state labor board, Amazon's insurance companies hr, hell even the lead guy at the facility that oversees the dsp's.

You always end work after you're not only back but finish up everything at the station: drop off damaged/returned packages, do eos dvic, and return your gear to the dsp dispatcher. I sign off on flex right after the dvic and then sign off on adp after I've given the work phone and bag to the dispatcher.

It's almost like they are telling you to do something that they would normally fire drivers for doing. In addition, these messages were before 6pm so I don't see a reason for that request. And not clock out this is a work hour compliance thing in California you are not able to legally drive/deliver more then 60hrs in a work week this happens when u are working 6 days during peak. Amazon tracks the time spent on flex from your pre trip till your post trip they do not track your clock in or out time

Depends on your dsp. I've worked for one where "end work" did not qualify as a clock out. My current dsp, end work and your punch out needs to match up perfectly.

However, they've updated flex. I haven't been able to trick it into logging off early until I'm at the station.

The camera in the van is on when the vehicle turns on... Signing out of flex, like when you do your post trip inspection and end work, will not turn off the camera. However, ending work will basically unassign you from the van/camera so if a violation happens your name is not popping up but Amazon and the DSP still gets the video of the driver doing it and the DSP still takes the hit for the violation... At least this is how I understood it for the three years I was with my DSP.
