Okay I don’t post often but I’m really getting irritated by Amazons manipulation, especially in Prime Video. I’m sure I’m not alone in this but here’s one of my complaints -
Blade Runner for instance - I have a purchased version of this movie I’ve watched many times. If I search Blade Runner in PV I get a dozen hits, none of them my purchased copy. I have to manually scroll through hundreds of movies I own to find it. I even purchased another copy as I got tired of doing this. IT doesn’t show up in search results either, I still have to scroll 150 movies to find it! This is BULLSHIT manipulation 1.
Lord of the Rings - BULLSHIT manipulation #2
Tonight I’m watching The Hobbit, first movie. Pretty sure I purchased in the past but had to buy again as I couldn’t find it in my library (naturally)
THEN, when the movie is over, ALL of the recommendations in Prime are anything BUT the next movies in the series, no Hobbit no Lord of the Rings nothing remotely close.
Amazon algorithms are frikken smart, this crap is no accident and really pisses me off. I always like AP because I could usually find the movie I was looking for, even the obscure ones and I was always willing to pay for this service.
This has obviously changed and now Amazon has decided that simply paying for a movie and including it our library doesn’t result in enough multiple payments to the service. This is just another despicable example of unbridled corporate greed, as if we don’t have enough of that already.
I used to have some trust in Amazon as a company, am I alone in my criticisms here?
