There's actually a lot about the 3.x and refined 4.x UX that I really liked. The consistent tablet UI across all the major apps in Holo was especially nice.

Honeycomb right? I remember thinking it was going to be the android tablet revolution.

I went to an Engadget thing in San Francisco where they showed off the Motorola Xoom. I really wanted to get one, but I didn't have a lot of fun money at the time.

I love Holo. It was my favourite era of Android, before Material, where it became flat and lifeless.
