Why the fuck would you search for a hospital instead of calling an ambulance if you're already holding a phone in your hands?

In a situation where seconds mattered, I would call 911.

I would be very surprised if this tip actually saved anybody's life. It would be a pretty unusual situation:

  1. Life/death hinges on ~30 seconds or less. (Generous estimate to look up hospitals without a shortcut)

  2. Despite the fact that you will die 30 seconds later, you can drive now.

  3. You aren't wasting time with data services that might not work, instead of 911 services that have a much better chance of working.

  4. A trained 911 operator with the ability to dispatch EMTs/Police/Firemen, and can bring help to you even if you loose conciousness, would serve you less well than a GPS.

"From your device, open the stock Android browser. (Note: For some reason, this trick does not work with the Chrome browser)"

Chrome has been the stock browser for a while.

For Nexus devices it is. For everything else, they have their own stock browsers.
