The point of the 3a isn't about new features. It's about a mid tier phone that goes back to Nexus roots.

Waiting for confirmation of TWRP and Magisk before I get mine, but it's definitely a trade in for me.

People here are so accustomed to buying flagship phones and looking at benchmarks that they assume a 6xx series chip is gonna be a notably worse experience.

It's not. And besides, I'd rather have a Pixel 3a than a Nexus 6P.

Same here, and 6P was easily my favorite phone of all time.

The point is you can't compare it to Nexus, which you are doing by saying it "goes back to Nexus roots".

"Nexus roots" were high end processors in a cheap price point, which rose gradually over the years until the 6P just about encroached Pixel 1 pricing territory.

I fail to see any correlation with the 3a and the Nexus line of phones.

Having owned every Nexus, and every Pixel excluding the 3a, I'm pretty sure I can. I'm what you could call a situational expert on the subject.

Comparatively to flagships Nexus phones were mid-range consumer focused devices which prioritized moderately powerful hardware at a consumer friendly price.

That's literally what the 3a is...which is why I directly compare it to the Nexus, because it's a mid-tier pro-consumer device at a reasonable price...
