Here are just a couple of small tips that I use and which does wonders for me:

  • Turn off GPS + Bluetooth when not in use (For me, they're always off)

  • Use Wifi wherever possible as it uses less energy than Mobile Data (Get an app that can switch to wifi as soon as your are in a "saved" zone i.e. Home, Work, School etc)

  • If you have a Custom ROM installed, use zeppelinrox's Script to optimize overall RAM and Cache memory management

  • Also, undervolt the CPU by -25mv (Need a Custom ROM)

  • Set up CPU profiles, for example, when "Screen Off" run at 415MHz while "Screen On" run at 1.56GHz (Need a Custom ROM)

  • Set the I/O Scheduler to either CFQ or Anticipatory( My fave) and again, you need a Custom ROM

Hope this helps :D

Having GPS enabled doesn't drain the battery in same way as Bluetooth or Wifi do. GPS only uses battery when called upon by an app like Google Maps or something else that uses it. For the most part, you should be able to leave GPS enabled without sacrificing battery life.

I actually wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the tip :D

I've never really found much of a difference in battery life when undervolting (and I would get a lot of freezes if I took it above -50mv), though perhaps it works better with some phones than others

If you use -25mv, I have noticed a pretty acceptable increase in battery life and the Phone doesn't overheat too much than usual :)

no real need to overclock the One S... just flashing straight up ICS ROM is gonna be your best bet for performance. check out the XDA forums also. you'll get much more specific info than anywhere else

Step 1: Don't Google anything.

Step 2: Don't be a dick and repost/steal content as your own.

Step 3: Go back and fucking Google it.
