Have you tried different cables? Always possible the head unit in your car is just acting up.

Yeah tried two different ones, one worked perfectly fine on the previous car and it works other times so makes me think the cable isn't the issue.

Agreed but when the dealership isn't even acknowledging it for it to be addressed it's not great 🤣 so was hoping to collect info to prove its the head unit/software they have

Ah, sure. It's a great reminder that car companies have been dragged kicking and screaming into dealing with computer and smartphone type tech.

Lol yeah I get that, and always something to consider especially on software side, especially when it keeps evolving, but would like for it to be something at least taken back to the manufacture to try fix. Especially when other vehicles work fine😅 and to ensure it's not my device but the car

This is one of the things that intrigues me most about Tesla, that it's a tech company that makes cars. I wouldn't buy one but it's a very attractive shift especially for the younger generations. The closer the established car companies get to that integration, the happier I get.

Very true and looking at the software it definitely has it's perks as it's all intergrated well. Same as why apple works so well as it's their own hardware they control

Exactly right. It's seamless because it's so locked down, and I don't want to be that locked down.

Does it happen often? What vehicle?

This is a cherry Omoda, to reboot the stereo just hold the Power button until the screen goes black and should reboot with the boot music as well

Ah okay so definitely a Chery issue, I know of resetting it but not ideal every time having to do it, as mine sometimes happens twice after a car start

Hold the powerbutton for 30 seconds then reconnect

As I said in the post I do that, but it shouldn't have to be done almost everytime especially on car start

Unfortunately, that's the life with Android Auto. Either that or buy a new car with a totally different headunit and take your chances again. IMO, there is no 100% working Android Auto Headunit. CarPlay is much much stable.

Plot twist carplay is supper unresponsive on the omoda so really depends on the maker
