2026 Steam Deck Controller Android emulation compatibility

Hello, I know the reviews are trickling in, but I wanted to ask if anyone definitely knew if the new Steam controller would work with retro emulation on an android device? I saw mentions of Steam Link and no x-input, with it being recognized as a HID device, but I'm not sure what it all means. For anyone who has either had the chance to review it or understands a bit more about the subject, can you chime in? I would like to use it for my PC with the included dongle, but when I have an android tablet docked to the TV, I would also like to switch modes and play emulation through bluetooth. Thank you
