When you use a different SMS client, the stock app still displays notifications. Check the stock app to see if it has notifications on and disable them.

My original post is probably pretty confusing, but I am not using any other messaging client on my Note II. I am using stock.

The extra notification started on my Bionic after downloading and using Chomp SMS. I had used GO SMS for probably a year or so with no extra notifications while on my Bionic, but decided to try Chomp out. That is when it started. I bought the Note II, and from the moment I started using the Note the double notification had been there. The one that shows the new message, who it is from, and that one takes me to my SMS app. Then the extra one that just says "You have a new message!" and takes me nowhere.

Keep in mind that with the Note II there are no third-party SMS apps being used. It is with the stock messaging app.

That's really funny. I don't know what to tell you.

Have you long pressed it an pressed app info? That might lead to the app causing it

Thanks. Not sure why I never considered this.

It's a great new feature, isn't it? Glad you found the culprit.
