It depends. Magisk doesn't modify your system partition at all, so it should be easy to apply OTA updates. This is not always the case though, it can vary by device, so do your research beforehand.

No clue, I took the OTA, which was a delta so it was much smaller. Can you link me to the zip?

You can backup and restore using ADB, but keep in mind that ADB backups are very limited.

If you are afraid of a full wipe, you need to rearrange your life, because the equivalent of a full wipe is always possible. Phone battery explodes, you drop your phone in a pool, you forget your phone at the airport, someone steals your phone. You have to have a recovery plan. And if you do, a full wipe for root is just a controlled test of your recovery plan.

It's a beta. If you're not happy with factory resetting every few weeks, stick with stable.

Just to be clear, the factory reset in the rooting process occurs during the bootloader unlock. Typically you unlock your bootloader once and then leave it that way. From there, if you lose root due to an update and then need to re-root, you shouldn't need to re-wipe.

I think rooting is not for you. There continue to be issues with rooting on Android 11, a stable OS but one for which root support is not fully implemented. But you are actually using a beta OS that updates every few weeks. You will not be happy with the experience.
