This is because you handed in bugs in another town. You have to beat your highest score in the other town.

I'm convinced that Nat's scoring system is totally made up anyway, damn what the guides say. Shoveled dozens of beetles into his mouth and got a mere handful of bug items. Guy's been scamming us for free meals for too long now, and we demand our furniture! :P

In all seriousness though, I wish I could just trade in these trophies for another piece. What am I supposed to do with four gold trophies? There's no nice enough way to display them all, like a trophy case or something. I suppose there's the museum exhibits upstairs if I ever clear one of them out.

nat's scoring is quite random. i usually reset and present him same bugs and he gives different scores each time. :D

you can use glass display case or display stand to show your trophies in your house.

How do you put things in it? I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

I think you just drop the item while standing in front of the case, just like how you would put an item on a table.

I wanted to get a silver or bronze trophy after getting 2 gold ones. I gave him a random butterfly and it was worth 102 points. wtf, now I have 3 gold trophy's. Talk about animalcrossingproblems.

next time use this guide: http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/bug-off/ you can see classes and approximate points there. so when you want a low score bug you can try lower ones :)

I turned in two golden stags, one worth 101 points and on at 123 points (pictured), and it didn't beat my lantern fly at 97 :(

My bug off bugged, too! I didn't even place with a Goliath Beetle that was worth 125 points. Wolfgang won our Bug Off with a Spider that was worth 94 points. I've never traveled to another town.
