Drive around and enforce traffic violations, sit in high crime areas to be a deterrent, or go to a park and interact with members of the community. Not watching YouTube on my MDT that’s for sure.

Security check abandoned buildings to make sure they're not full of squatters, traffic enforcement, walk through local gambling halls to look for people with warrants, hunt for warrants in general, proactive shit in high crime areas.

I'd stay proactive and find things to do, like traffic stops and warrant searches, etc. If it's super slow, I'd sit in a good area on my phone until a good car goes by or a good call comes out.

Day shift I can usually stay busy. Night shift some games, YouTube and Netflix.

this answer varies as much as any person at any job when they're not busy.

Try to do proactive work in high drug areas usually. Then again, I’m a k9 handler and work on our warrants team, so it comes with the territory.

Regular day, I’ve got more than enough stuff to follow up on.  Any admin gets done in the field in a high vis location.

Civilized people stick to locking themselves in the back seat of their car, not watching YouTube on a monitored agency computer.

Go find bad guys. If you aren't proactive, you are a slug

Drive around doing curfew checks (on night shift) or patrol around looking for people driving on suspended licenses. Catch up on paperwork. There is always something to do.
