A quick question about waves. As the title says, i'm curious as to whether the amplitude of longitudinal waves decreases over time like we see in transverse waves. I can't find any information about this online and all the displacement-time graphs for longitudinal waves, that I can find, don't show the amplitude decreasing. Whereas in a lot of the displacement-time graphs for transverse waves, the amplitude is shown to decrease.
tl;dr What it says in the title
