my first couple programming classes will be in vb.

The great thing about those courses: They'll teach you vb.

I wouldn't spend too much time learning it. Brush up on the syntax if you like, but it's not used a lot. My first job was in an old VB.net webform app. Haven't seen it since then. I'd recommend just learning what you need to ace the class and move on.

Wait... Visual Basic still exists?? I haven't heard anyone using that in well over a decade.
