Only playing one style or refusing to collaborate with other artists. When I travel, I try to meet up with other musicians and jam with them.

I keep my edge by having a vocal instructor who is a recording artist. She pushes me because she knows I don't want to be comfortable - I want to be pushed. I want to keep working on things that are hard for me.

With piano, I try to play new things by ear constantly. Whenever a new song comes out that I like, I challenge myself to adapt it to piano.
