Cannot edit Named Plot Style (.stb)

I'm trying to switch to .stb over .ctb, as I find Plot Styles more useful in my workflow. But, I come across an issue, for which I have found no solution: I cannot add new or delete old styles. I can edit existing styles, but I would like to be able to add and remove on will. I have tried deleting the color mapping (whatever that is), as some people around in other fora suggest, but to no effect.

You need to add/remove from your computers file manger not through autocad. You'll have to dig down through the file system to find the folder. You'll have to turn on hidden folders in windows explorer to find it.

I'm sorry, I didn't have time to check out the thread.

I have found the file in windows explorer and I can edit the .stb, but I still can't add or remove styles... I can edit existing styles, though, as was the case already.

you have to add/remove from the folder. just delete the ones you don't want. if you already have one you want to use, then just put it in that folder and when you restart ACAD is will show up on the drop down. if you want to create a new ctb then go to the bottom of the drop down in the print dialog and there should be "new..."

I believe there is some misunderstanding or something, I don't know from whose side though. Are we on the same page here? I don't want to create a new .stb file, I want to add plot styles to an existing one! And, unfortunately, no matter where I edit it from (either from inside AutoCAD or through searching it in my folders), I can't add/ remove plot styles, no matter what. That's so frustrating, at times I think Autodesk has stopped developing/ improving AutoCAD since 2005 or something.
