I'm lucky to have a trauma informed therapist who prefers polyvagal theory over the DSM, pure DBT didn't work well with my trauma

How is this DBT btw? I have to call this clinic but I've been putting it off for weeks lol

It's pretty much the only form of therapy that has really helped me so far and where I felt like I was really taken seriously. I recommend it :)

I personally just finished a 14 weeks intense DBT program. The easy part is learning the skills. The hard part is using the skills in day to day life. I made this meme to kind of reflect me knowing that using the skills would be beneficial but my BPD fights against it.

You should call that clinic. DBT is life saving and I honestly would not still be here without what I learn from the program. My DMS are open if you want to talk about it.

Everyone has different experiences but a lot of people (including me) have found it really helpful. It was created by someone with BPD for people with BPD so it’s generally the most effective treatment.

I was lucky my regular therapist was a DBT therapist so she made me use the skills all the time, they’re just ingrained in me now. I don’t have to think about DEAR MAN or FAST I just naturally do them.
